My 5 Cent ...
I'm 20h in the game by now and I am enjoying it.
I would enjoy it even more when following points would be adressed:
  • One loading screen .. not 3 when starting a game or going from Imperium back to city
  • World-Map: Have a button to quick jump to your own settlements
  • Always have the 'Escape'-Key to exit any menu, screen
  • Adress lags. I have a decent CPU and GPU which runs AAA-Games at 60 FPS ... but your game lags with 800+ People
  • Have a message history (i.e. Help-Screens ... I saw yesterday something about the harbour, do not ask me what it was)
  • Let me drag and draw places (Plätze)
  • Make quests more descriptive (i.e. Habe 60 neue Plätze im Forum)
  • Adress lags. More than often, the movement with WASD responds a few seconds later.
  • Let me change the Keybindings anytime ... Maybe I was wrong, when choosing WASD as my main input
  • Play yourself Anno 1800. And get a feeling for smooth user-experience. For example Grid view when placing streets and biulding.
  • Let me place a builing anytime ... let it be my fault if I do not have the road connection built.
  • Let me make drafts of builings I want to build later ... If I go to a forest in real life, I would put sticks into the ground to mark the area a building would be ... get it?
  • When right clicking on a well, all wells are shown .. why isn't that a feature for all buildings (Taverns)
  • Reduce loading times. I have one of the fastests machines available on the market, but waiting for a 15GB game to paint the local map for 20 seconds ... sorry, I have 64GB of RAM andf 16GB of VRAM, this should be no issue.
  • When doing the Iron works .. the 'Schmied' is called 'Schmid' ... wenn dann bitte mit 'dt' .. und die Weiterverabeitung wird auch als 'Schmid' bezeichnet ... ist das niemanden aufgefalen?
  • The clouds in the world-map should be turned off by default .. or just get rid of it.
  • Address lags!!!!
  • Hol Dir irgendwann einen professionellen Sprecher für die deutschen Texte. Es braucht mehr emotionalen Tiefgang.
  • Sound ... I turned down music to zero, works, I turned down city-sounds to almost zero, but when near the forum or other ares, I get those repetitve annyoing sounds ... turning it to zero .. the same.
  • running low on bricks .. nice to have the feature, to get new bricks. Getting an alert every 2 to 10 seconds to remind me ... is a bit annoying
  • Play the tutorial yourself. At the end your kicked out of the game with the message, that you played the demo.

By all means, this is an early access, not a finished game. I look forward playing this, but you should take your time and have a look, what other developers of your genre are doing.

I never played any Caesar title, for that I can not judge any improvement. I like the concept and I would like to see better user-friendliness.

So, this is another EA game releasead as finished. Tried the demo and dont liked it. UI and graphics seem outdated among other things. Reviews are slowly dropping down and reflect this.

Thank you very much for the tips and feedback. I've copied everything and put it on the Discord server so I can work through everything in order. I'm doing my best to implement as much as possible. I've heard a lot of things from others. Unfortunately, it takes a bit longer than if a whole team does it, but I'm doing my best. Thanks, feedback like this is incredibly helpful.

I would not write a wall of text, if the game would not be worth it. It is a good game. ,-)

I'd appreciate if I right click on a buildings with addons (market, plaza, etc) that the build menu opens so I don't have to navigate through the side buttons.

You pretty much described the way Anno 1800 plays with good reason. I just bought this game and it looks really good I hope I can play it with my 15 year old PC. Anno 1800 plays good with just a little bit of lag.

Could you explain that a little bit more? I'm not so sure how that works?
Thank you :)
