Cannot start the game due to a name bug

I could use some help--when I click on the tutorial to start the game, a box pops up that prompts me to make my own Roman name. Apparently I have to have at least 3 characters for both the surname and the first name, but whatever I type into the box is not recognized. This essentially keeps the start button permanently disabled, which makes it impossible to start the game. Please help!
