Endless Waves Survival is a simple yet remarkably addicting game. At the price of $1(US) and on sale for 40% off it is very easy on the wallet. It is fun and I do recommend it.

The game automatically shoots for you (up to all 7 spells at once) As you kill enemies, you level up and can improve one of 7 different offensive spells or a spell of shield for defense. You collect coins that can upgrade items (ring of regeneration, bracer of damage, magnet) or buy potions (healing, damage, cooldown,) and more.

The good news:
Inexpensive.
Easy to learn.
Gamepad or Keyboard, the game is very easy to play with either.
Works well on the steamdeck.
Works well on native linux (Mint 20.3 - AMD graphics)
In Early Access (So hopefully "The Bad" will be fixed)

The Bad:
The waves do get monotonous after a while.
The later waves do not seem to get harder at all.
As you max out your spells and items, the game gets easier; to the point that when you are maxed you can let the game run and you will not die. You only need to worry about the occasional centipede and even for that you barely need to move.

UPDATE 7/28/2022: There is a new patch released with significant gameplay changes. There is a new adjustable difficulty selection (EASY/NORMAL/HARD) at the start of a game. There are new spells and items as well as new "attributes." There are also new limitations to what you can select only 5 different items and 5 different auto fire spells. There was even an enemy thief added that steals items left on the ground.

This patch obviously makes the game as a whole more difficult. But it also adds more options to the mix. It also means that despite the low cost, the developer is actually responding to criticism of the game and is willing to support it with needed updates.

With the support and updates, I still recommend the game, but instead of a lackluster, how can you go wrong for only a buck, it has turned into a great value for only a buck. So, grab it while you can.

Endless waves survival is a decent arcade twinstick - get in game, kill enemies too level up and increase stats OR get/upgrade attacks, collect gold to buy equipment or consumables. Goal is to survive as long as possible.

So why negative? There is no progression - no unlocks or roguelite elements so you have all the tricks at your disposal in each run and it's just about getting better. That'd still be fine but the pace is too slow and there's little variety to each stage. It's too monotonous and samey very quick.

If the pace was increased (maybe faster player/enemy movement, faster attack rates) and more variety added to enemy behaviour (they all just chase you and turn into a huge clump) it'd be better. Perma progression and unlocks are always nice but that might be asking too much. Maybe different visuals at least (colour palettes or enemy skins, different arena visuals) could be relatively easy to implement.

not fun at all after the latest patch. arc lightning is bugged, thief is easily the worst addition to the game. i will go back to other vampire survivors clones that are MUCH better than the mess this game is now.

This COULD be a good game if it had some depth and difficulty added. I got bored REAL fast as the game is far too easy and doesn't once challenge you. I unlocked everything in my first and only run. I even stepped away to get food and such and came back still going in the game. This game has potential but it needs a lot.

Game is super cheap much like other games in the genre but still can't recommend as you'll only run it once and never touch again. Lacks what the others in the genre have that make it fun and addicting.

One of many reverse bullet hell "survivor-likes" getting pushed out on Steam in EA nowadays, obviously because of the success of Vampire Survivors. It just... gets boring really fast. If you're desperate for more games like Vampire Survivors or Nomad Survival, then sure, go for it. But other than that.. meh.
And yes, I know it's cheap. But so are the other games like this ;P

A cute little attempt, but it ultimately fails.
No meta upgrades, nothing is saved, no new characters.
The game is simple, and fun enough as a base, but it just falls flat.
It's easy enough to get through, and the only "challenge" is how to avoid the inevitable "wall" of mobs, that not only grows in toughness of mobs, but also in how many walls show up. The rest of the game is secondary to this mechanic.
It just feels cheap when lazy mechanics like this ultimately end up being the only thing ending a run.

Principally refunded, even though it's a cheap game. Keep working on it; add the stuff that's obviously missing, and polish what's already there. Might pick it up again if it gets better. Right now it's a hard pass for me, 3/10.

Killing the boss is impossible. Everytime you kill an enemy it instantly spawns another, and it forms an entire barrier around the boss making it impossible to attack. As soon as you take out a few in front they all respawn, then their HP scales as you go. No permanent unlocks, no replay value, all the enemies are the same, all the classes suck except 1, map is too small, and unlike the description the game mentions; upgrades are limited to 10. I bought because it said you had endless upgrades and endless waves but that was a lie.

not sure how good the game is cuz i played like 2 maybe 3 ish hours (could be close to 10 but im not 100% sure) and the rest have been afk hours because its a great game to have open so my pc doesnt freeze up all the time (think it has to do with ram) and keeping this game open stopes it from freezing up so the game is a great AFK game can highly recommend XD ♥
