How many chapters are there exactly?

Only one single time i have seen 4 chapters... Which leaves a question - is there a way to stretch every adventure into 4+ chapters or it was a one-timer for specific route? Cus it does not looks like you can do anything during Fury battle but die, which ends her chapter 3.

There are about 20 different chapters in the game. But that's probably not a good way of measuring the amount of content, as some chapters are very elaborate, whereas others are extremely short.

I haven't gone beyond a fourth chapter either, as far as I remember, and only a few specific chapters can form chains that long.

Chapter 3 is the norm. The one you mentioned is 4 and one goes to some unknown high number but it's still effectively chapter 3 for you.

The Narrator mentions that three chapters is the limit: by the time the Princess' influence spreads to the exterior of the cabin, it's trivial for her to escape. If she's so inclined.
The reason that route goes beyond chapter three is she wants to stab you for all eternity, so even as her influence completely engulfs the construct and there's nothing to contain her, she doesn't leave.
