Totally, this post is gatekeeping at it's finest.
I don't really want to go to much into details, but I think this is something to address!
While I do not agree that the game is "plagiarism" I think I understand what you mean. So of course I could tell you, as I read that "No one possess an entire art-style", which is true, but we also had a different approach, thinking that it'd be even more inappropriate to use Moebius' name to market the game on each possible occasion. This would even "trick" people into buying the game just because they love Moebius art style, whatever the game is behind, which is not what we want to. Synergy is not meant to be "just" a Moebius reference, there's a whole game in there :D
Yes, the art style is definitely inspired by Moebius, a style we love, and as French ourselves, we're pretty proud to make his style known to the people that might not know it, and to give him this kind of tribute. A lot of people understand the reference, whenever we're talking about the game we say his name, and even here people can read his name!
But we feel that creditting Moebius in the game itself would both mean he owns the art style, and would also minimize the excellent work our artists did on the game!
Of course characters looks different, but the style and environment looks so like Sabre i thought maybe it was same devs.
I am french and I understand what you want to say, just a "thank you Moebius for your imagination" somewhere in the game could be ok because I think too they have a huge inspiration of his art style ! ^^
This says it all
And no one is complaining about this. Many people take for granted that the city landscape in Blade Runner is a Ridley Scott’s thing…
While I am French too, and proud of Möbius’ heritage, I don’t think mentioning him as a source of inspiration is really making a difference anywhere.
As sTankWhiStLe said, Möbius would be proud of your (devs’) work.
Thanks for your game.
