What did I miss?

I thought I was pretty thorough--I cleaned up all trash every day and checked every object I could--or so I thought. But in the end I never found a sharp object to destroy the bulbous growths, never found anywhere to use the number I found in a note, never found a key to open the safe, never found meat to feed him on the final day (although the notes suggested not doing this lol), and never found a light to explore the dark corner of the room. What did I need to do to progress? I'd imagine either a sharp object or a light would have opened things up but I have no idea where they were

Edit: Oh yeah, I found a second doll but never a second photograph. Was I supposed to feed him the unsafe objects instead...? I assumed that would have made him more malformed and give me a more bad ending.

Hey! Don't know if you eventually worked it out, but yes, you were supposed to give him the unsafe objects. The first one (which I assume you did since you got the first photo) lets him regurgitate the key. The second lets him regurgitate a pair of scissors (for opening the bulbous sacs). The third lets him regurgitate a flashlight (where you access the dark corner of the basement, where the bookshelf and biohazard bin is). There, you will find the second doll and second photo.
