IS it really that bad in 2024?
I know there's like 100+ posts about the same question, but it feels like it never comes with neutral answer(?).

- I'd just want to know, if they have fixed any of the issues the game used to have, as I know they had a lot.
- Also, like what is so terrible about this game, other than the fact that they have ADWF weapons for whatever reason in WW2 game? But if we are honest, all COD have some very stupid anime/furry skins and what not that have nothing to do with FPS genre.
- Are Zombies (didn't know it even had those) and MP dead?

I've played all latest COD games, and honestly I didn't see much of an issue with MW2, like most of people have complained about. Sure MW2 and MW3 have issues, but all games do.

EDIT 1.5.2024:
Forgot about this post. Thought I'd update my opinion on my question. Tbh I've been avoiding this game since release, hence I also missed all the Battle Pass stuff etc. Anyways.

I decided to grab this game during last sale and tbh the gameplay is pretty solid. It honestly feels more polished than MW3. The campaign wasn't even as terrible as everyone said, it kinda layed out the story to Zombies.

Vanguard also has Zombies, which I wasn't aware of, since the store page only showed SP and MP, but it is now fixed and also says Zombies included. The zombies are bit different, but it's pretty fun, not the best tho, but still fun.

I think the only negative thing is weapon progression. To unlock attachments, you need to grind the levels for the guns. Most weapons seem to go as far as level 70+. But I noticed that the best way to level up is by playing in Zombies mode.

All in all. It's a decent COD game that's worth getting during sale, but not as full price.

I bought this game on a sale expecting the worst, and I was actually pleasingly surprised with it. The MP maps play mostly well, I really dig the fast movement (it's directly taken from 2019's with a few adjustments) and so far, I didn't had that many problems with glitches. I also find matches fairly fast, though be ready to face some ping if you're not from North America.

The campaign is just ok, nothing special to write home about, but also not as terrible as they made it sound like.

Zombies is kind of dead, and the game mode is just an extra rather than a full on separate game like Treyarch's. That said, it's fun with friends in coop and the later maps they added are pretty good.

All in all, I'd say it's worth it on a sale. If you end up hating it, then get a refund.

P.S: Oh yeah, keep in mind that the Steam version has some glitched achievements in the SP mode, as they refuse to unlock even when the requirements are met. If you don't care about achievements then it's whatever, but do keep that in mind if you do. This has already been reported, but knowing Activision, they won't bother to fix 'em after so long.

I grabbed this in the sale at 60% off despite never envisioning ever buying it, yet I really enjoyed the campaign despite a few shortcomings and the MP is actually really good fun from a pace, gunplay and mechanical standpoint. There's plenty of maps and matches are fast faced and incredibly enjoyable. Kinda kicking myself for not getting it sooner and just assuming it was a weak Call of Duty title because of it's initial reception. Vanguard screams underrated and it's great to see people still playing it.

Haven't tried zombies yet but I think this will the weakest part of the experience but in terms of the story and the MP, it's an absolute steal in the sale and very much worth the money.

Glad i bought it. Not as bad as people say aside from some missing features from WWII like Headquarters and War mode. It's my first CoD in years and i really like it so far. :)

Yes. It wasnt as bad as on the release. said. And zombies were pretty decent. Also I didnt encounter such weird bugs in SP as some people showed on YT. MP gameplay was also honestly pretty solid.

Alright cool thanks.

Still playing it or did you already lay it down?

Im itching for my next mp game and look between this and cold war, but cold war have quick scope which is the main reason I dont want that game.

I just still keep hearing people say its almost impossible to find matches, or they take several minutes to find.

It isnt as active, but I just tried it. At first I found half empty maps but then I got full maps. So I can't tell you how really active it is. The nice thing tho is there is constant 2XP on everything so you dont get stuck with WPs without any attachments etc. Crossplay helps a lot ngl.

Sadly - it was never good. The campaign is underwhelming - in comparison to other WW2 cod campaigns; zombies mode is a disappointment. The whole skin introduction made ww2 themed multiplayer a huge letdown. I would love a 1-1 reboot of CoD2 multiplayer. No weird guns, no weird attachments (holographic optics etc.).

-well worth it, game is like cod 5 world at war on steroids i love it
-every match is full of players
-some game types are hard to find matches but that's no different in mw2-3
-game had a rough start but its so much fun now, i only wish i started playing sooner
