This game is immensely disrespectful to the WWII veterans...

Not only is it historically inaccurate in terms of having non-whites and women at the forefront of the fighting (which wasn't the case except for a few special units), it doesn't even explore the racism that black soldiers experienced in the US military and instead portrays everything with rose-tinted glasses. This is tremendously disrespectful to all WWII veterans no matter their race or gender.

Wait, the "woke" crowd is trying to whitewash history now? You sure about that one? The big strong manly man in Florida sure isn't woke, in fact his whole brand is anti-woke and he and his administration are literally whitewashing history. And you are accusing a freaking game of "whitewashing" history, while I am pointing out actual whitewashing here in Florida and other places when it comes to history and what is being taught in schools and what not. I could careless what happens in these forums, these are about games after all. I'm more worried about the asinine crap going on in the real world.

I honestly can see the reasoning why someone might find a game like this offensive even though I don't personally agree but this reasoning would apply to a lot of entertainment media. I'm not saying Vanguard is good but what I'm saying is it's very much in the same vein of alt history entertainment such as films like Inglorious Basterds with the campaign, zombies mode is like straight up Overlord, and the MP is obviously just an excuse to shoot and kill players in a pvp setting... I feel like if you draw the line at this game being a disgrace to WW2 you should also think many other (some beloved) pieces of media are disrespectful too. if you believe in artistic freedom & expression I don't think this game is any more insulting than even World at War.

I've seen people criticise how Vanguard portrays the Russian sniper Polina Petrova as being so pivotal to the fighting that she inspired others to keep on fighting but this is the exact type of mythology figure storytelling Cod WaW used with Dimitri in World at War who is narrated as this enigmatic legend by Reznov who truly was a major part of turning the tide in the Russian counter attack single handedly doing amazing things surviing the impossible and basically leading eventual invasion of Berlin and storming the Reichstag... it's literally the exact same thing as that in Vanguard with Polina but ppl just don't like it cause she's a woman 😩 it's fair to call it disrespectful to make it these basically figures of myth for storytelling purposes in actual historical settings where people really died and you could instead base all the characters on real people... that's a fair critique but at least be consistent by that logic World at War is also a disgrace to WW2... yet people who say Vanguard is disgrace will in the same sentence say WaW is this gritty testament to the horrors of war that respects WW2 just because it has gore and lets u commit war crimes with a flamethrower 🙄 it was gritty but not that deep it simplified things a lot just like Vanguard did. Personally I don't think either of these games are disrespectful they are just art and honestly.... more so than art they are entertainment pieces. It's like getting upsset at alt history pulp fiction not being a good historical representation... it misses the point but it's something I can understand especially if it's someone who experienced or is still effeccted by the events that took place. We all have different perceptions and complicated emotions on things after all some people are sensitive to different things than others
