the campaign is the only good thing about it. If u dont mind purchasing it just for the campaign then go ahead. Multiplayer is pretty much non existent which is sad.

The Game:
The game itself is actually very enjoyable. Sure, some annoying bugs exist, but considering it was developed during the pandemic in just about five months, it's understandable and doesn't ruin the overall experience.

The Story:
The story pulls you in beautifully. It helps you understand some key parts of the legendary original Black Ops much better.

Multiple endings and choices affect the outcome.

However, some choices create funny contradictions with the original Black Ops storyline — you'll know what I mean when you play it.

Gameplay:

Solid mechanics

Short but well-paced campaign (longer could have made it repetitive)

Major problem: Level design issues continue from older CoDs.
People sit casually while a warzone rages just a few meters away — it kills immersion, and it’s been an issue since the early games.
(Modern Warfare (2019) fixed this, Cold War sadly did not.)

If the campaign was longer, it might have started to drag. The short length actually saves it from being boring.

Cold War is NOT worth the full price.
Selling a 4-year-old game for $20+, along with other old CoD titles, is absurd.
They refuse to apply meaningful discounts, and every year we get a short new campaign for full price.
This needs to change.


This pricing model is outdated and predatory.
