Stuttering

Haven’t played this since 2021 and there’s still a stuttering problem?

yes, it's so fkn infuriating, I haven't found a solution yet

I've tried the config edit, task manager priority, turning off Game Mode in Windows, turning off Vsync, nothing worked so far...

I think it's just the game engine because this WAS made on a "heavily modified" version of the COD 2 engine. Which was probably 20 years old at the time

I haven’t noticed any stuttering I play on the Legion Go handheld not a powerful pc

it doesn't crash, it's just freezes for like a second or two whenever I enter a firefight and when it unfreezes I'm dead on the floor because I was standing still during that time

I turned down the video memory setting in graphics settings in-game and it seems to have mostly solved it, I'v gonna test some more tonight

I finally fixed it for myself, I went in and edited my Documents\Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War\player\config.ini and changed video_memory to 0.65 and it seems to have completely eliminated the stuttering altogether

I changed my video memory to 0.55 and then set the config.ini to read only so that it doesn't automatically revert after booting up the game. This does lock your in game graphics settings to their current settings though, so set up your graphics the way you want them BEFORE changing the ini file and setting it to read only in properties.
