steam falsely saying release date was 2023

i wanted to buy a new game, seen the release date was march 2023, then i found out it came out in 2020, just on steam this year. This is false advertising surely.

The store page release date is the date the game launched on Steam.

i know that now but its intentionally misleading, release date in normal language is when the game came out, its like a garage saying a 3 year old car is new because it just came into their garage.

While I would agree with your statement, many games on Steam have this issue due to them not releasing on Steam when the game originally came out. This has been a re-occurrence for years now.

Some Games we're releases officisl in 2014...Dev makes Update..Games now 2022 releases. Dont Trust anything anymore These days. Everything wants to decieve you... Or better your Money and €&#@.

I've noticed that it matters to if someone released an old game right now and it shows release date as today. take example for if you posted something on a site, it shows what day you posted it. this is simple. not misleading, not wokeness or whatever. If you want to see the game where it was actually released, google it. Its that simple.

yeah true. wikipedia almost aways has the answer. though sometimes information isnt quiet 100% accurate.

dude nobody has to even go on wikipedia. It just shows the date. Even if that isn't a reliable source it doesn't get game dates wrong.

they should add two dates, the actual release date and another one for steam platform

they honestly should have two dates one being the date the game was officially released for PC, then another it was on the steam store, most would be the same but some outliers i.e this game
