Because it’s impossible with how the game works to recreate their conquests in the same time frame they did.
Maybe some special rule whereby they can annex large amounts of territory at once, which could also clear certain buildings when it happens or something 🤷♀️
I have been playing the Seljuqs and it's going OK - put up likely on Remove Civilized and absorb vassal. A little bit of cash sweet talking vassals then having them fall into your lap is one of the quickest ways to boost income and power.
Have defeated the Buyids, taken a few lumps off Byzantium and am currently subduing the Abassids so they can acknowledge my political superiority.
I think you need to pillage and raid liberally and switch focus from levies to standing army units until retinue limit.
Cheers,

Same here. This might be a balance issue that devs might want to take a look at.
In all of my games Byzantine is always the top legacy.
HRE always crumbles.
Seljuks barely conquer.
Mongols can barely beat the Rus, they never reached Hungary in any of my games.
So everything must be taken with a grain of salt, the game offers many variations from a run to another...
I have the benefit of experience of playing through the first campaign, but would say the Seljuqs snowball much more easily than England did.
For Pocus and the developers - still not sure why you have put a minor fiefdom in every starting Seljuk region bar one??? On a different note, I really wish you guys had fixed Wars of Napoleon, it had such awesome promise.
Cheers,
AKL
Absorbing vassals helps as that puts your manpower income up, as well as building/prioritising manpower buildings (peasants roundup is a no brainer).
