"A natural born warrior" achievement bugged?

My understanding is that in order to obtain the achievement, you have to let Chili transform during its battle by damaging it without killing it. I've done so both in the Colosseum on my original save file and also in the Veggie Battlefield on a fresh save file, and neither time did I obtain the achievement

You need to defeat the chili before finishing vegetable kingdom to get this achievement.

In hindsight this achievement might not have been the best or clearest requirements.

Thanks I've been wondering that, I thought you had to upset the pepper.
