Confirmed: Can get back to retrieve skipped equipment (Spoiler. Big)

If you are one of the players that finished a certain area and didn't fight a certain character when warned, then went out from activating a toilet, read on:

It started by me being suspicious about the late ingame mention about "the corruption", thinking that the area where it's most corrupted, the ROM, would hold a secret.

I found a Shade smile by going up, right, down, then left until I estimated I hit a wall, then a bit back to the right, up, screen transition, left and then a bit up when a music sounded. This felt like a troll... or just a leftover from the Irvine picking up that slime virus thing. Felt like it was a troll left by the devs. I thought there should be more and posted that over the subreddit.

Gotta write a lot so that it's not seen in the preview from the Discussion board, sorry.

A couple days after, an user has mentioned that he has found a portal that takes him to the Everhood 1 area from ROM. I asked if he would be able to post a recording or at least write a method. Here it is:

I have checked it myself, it's not a fake at all. This way, you can get back to obtain the Light Being's Soul Weapon that was inside Yellow if you visit the cinema area.

And this ALSO means that you can get a Soul Weapon that is NOT yours even before beating the Dragon by losing repeatedly and going to this portal. The user mentioned that this was active while he was following Irvine to get the God Fruit!

Edit: It's bugged for revisits... the bus won't pick you up again. Also the lab door is open for some reason but there's no collision.

We need a fix, it's a dead end otherwise forcing a reset, glad there's no working save point inside.

Was a little iffy on the timing, but i can confirm this does work. it is definitely bugged, hopefully its fixed and not entirely patched out, i always found it odd you could never get back after you left.

Well, do I have news for you.

It is... unintended.

They are going to remove the portal in a few days with a patch. I suppose the same for the Shade smile.

But that's what delving into the search of secrets in a game is, after all. Sometimes you indeed find gold nuggets planted by devs and make ARGs or find unexpected challenges or lore, and sometimes it's just bugs and dummy data.

well now I'm just even more confused about how the portal got there. i understand shade, because he shows up when irvine finds the "god fruit", but i have no clue how or why a portal to the everhood 1 area shows up in the void.
