Questions on the ending
So I beat Riley and the post credits shade. Is that the true ending? It reloaded to back before the party went on the final journey. What do I do different to change the ending? Also I went through the cat god door, but shade just sent me into some other BS, when do I get to cat god even? And how do I start new game plus, if that is even a thing.

I'm pretty sure that's it. I know it's really annoying.
There's no other endings, no Cat God and no new game plus. That's all there is

Yep I eventually figured that out, huge missed opportunity to not have anything like that. This game was still good but would rather it be 2 or 3 hours shorter with a similar multi ending structure to the first game
Maybe we just don't know the whole story? Or we are bad at looking from a diferent perspective?

This question is more about the technicalities of the gameplay side rather than the meaning of the story. I've asked about its meaning earlier and someone gave me a good and extensive reply https://steamcommunity.com/app/1984020/discussions/0/591765174951648057/
Yeah that was a good reply, but regardless of how good the ending is it's just a shame that this game (which is clealy shooting for a "bigger and better" feel compared to the first title), ended up feeling like it lacks so much mystery and choice in the endgame sections in comparison. Like it adds so much to the world of the first game that you can choose to ignore the clear objective you're given, and it added so much to have secret super bosses associated with hidden endings. Like if this game obeyed the rules of the first one, there were not only be some kind of choice in the end, but characters like evren and the puppet jester would probably be optional bosses associated with hidden endings, in this game they're just kind of there.
Also, the absurd green mage hallway in the first game is so legendary for being so ridiculous, this game should have had something similar

Yeah, the story being explained didn't make me feel any better about the experience, but it did give me hope that the gnomes might've had intention behind it and not just decided to dumb it down

After the HUGE surprise when you get to some areas in the first game had me convinced that Red from the first game was seen as "Death" and was the final boss, essentially being an altered timeline of the first game, saving both worlds... But I can dream for an update that adds multiple endings like the first game.
