Is this an abandoned game? I just bought 1 for myself and 1 for my brother on February. Do they abandon this game just in 1 year?

Its a finished game. Not all studios design business cases for significant post launch support. Doesn't mean it has been abandoned.

This game wasn't just abandoned it was deliberately killed - smothered in the crib.

There's already a discord with an active core playerbase. But it's still a pretty dead game.

It was dead from release on unfortunately. I doubt very much they patch anything anymore. Should never have named it Stellaris or this weird 5x now. As Twillight Imperium it would have sold like crazy.

I'm not sure if you can call it abandoned. It is a finished product. It's a good game too. I find it amusing that these days we are so used to poorly made games which are not finished that if a finished game comes along and development ceases, we go straight to abandoned and do not buy.... crazy times.... Get it, enjoy it, and don't worry about the next update fixing things.... nothing to fix, it works and is worth the money!

Why does everyone always expect an endless game-as-a-service? The game was designed, produced and released. That's it. What the game is now, it will always be, unless modded. Why is that a bad thing? Not every game needs a billion updated and DLCs. Just enjoy things...
