Obvious dead, plans for a new branding?
Unfortunately this gane is dead. Nobody is playing it even when they had f2p weekend. And since it is mainly multiplayer nobody is gonna play it. So I wonder, since the game is not bad, are there any plans to market it differently? When you look at Twillight Imperium Mods on Table Top Simulator, you see mods with over 1000 reviews. So the game concept is very popular. (it is a 99% copy of TI) But since this here is marketed as a Stellaris lite, nobody is picking it up. Maybe the dev could sheld some light on future plans. And please do not say u plan to pay another bunch of unrelated youtuber channels to make videos that have no effect.

I just found out about the game today. I have no interest in Stellaris... but I am *very* interested in a game inspired by Twilight Imperium. It definitely feels like a mistake to put this under the Stellaris brand. It's not the kind of game Stellaris fans want to play, and people who don't enjoy Stellaris will ignore it even if they like TI. There's nothing about the title that suggests it is based on TI, I only found out about it because of a random reddit post.

Seems like they asked their community if they want a Diet Coke version of their games and about 99% of them have said, no thank you.

More like, they asked their community if they wanted to stop playing Stellaris and play a board game instead, and 99% said no, then shrugged, marketed it towards them anyway and didn't think to ask or design it for the people who play board games.

right now it's hard to jump back into the game as most want to play small 100 point games and you can tell right away that there is hard team stacking. who wants to play that in a free for all? there should be some way to counter team stacking but how is a developer supposed to design a ffa game mode and not have that be a thing?
Stellaris was a pretty broken game when it came out. It took years for it to become the game it is today. This game will get its own 20 DLC's at $20 each to become a good game.

Multiplayer focus makes this quite unlikely.

Also, sales are totally fine so you guys may just be freaking out over nothing. Game has about 500 reviews meaning about 15,000 sales in two months, for an early access game with nearly no marketing and likely with relatively low dev costs. Thta's 225,000 in revenue before Steam takes it's cut. Probably enough for the game to justify it's existence at this time.

One viral PewdiePie video could generate 5x that many sales and i'm sure the devs are conscious of this.

It's honestly just hilarious to call an Early Access game with FIFTEEN THOUSAND UNITS SOLD IN TWO MONTHS 'Dead in the water.' People are very strange these days lol. This is a smaller game with almost no marketing done and I assume the devs were aware that this was a very likely result.

It could even be intentional, they might not want a ton of people playing before they collect EA feedback and take action on it.

I have no clue about the game's budget or profit but hopefully it's doing well. I've been sending out copies to friends to get a group together. It doesn't matter to me if the public lobbies are "dead" because board games are better played with friends to begin with.

It was already marketed in big non related channels and didnt boost sales. Also, most numbers I saw suggest a 1 to 16 ratio between sales and reviews at best. But a multiplayer game that is played by 60 guys a day is basically dead in the water.

1/16? Have never heard even close to that number and it doesn't pass the smell test either. Where are you getting that from loL:?

I have consistently heard 1/100 everywhere i've looked and when I released a game 1/100 was the ratio we got as well (with very positive reviews, no less!)

So, no, I think you're talking out of your booty there buddy.
One issue is that even if you're looking for the game, you need to search for the full name to find it in the search suggestion list. Typing in Stellaris will not show you the game, just Stellaris + some DLCs.
I agree, the game has overwhelmingly positive reviews so they're obviously doing something right. I think there is a failure of targeted marketing or perhaps they do not want a TON of players yet and they're fine with a slow roll here. Or this may just be a niche genre with fewer players to serve; there's nothing wrong with that. Smaller game, smaller team, smaller # of players; if the players are dedicated the game will do fine.
