Any map can be made using the Map Editor that is called UnrealEd.exe in the system folder of the game.
You can set the game mode for single player only if you so wish in the .int file for the map and the game mode itself with the nodes etc when making it.
Do you have any experience making maps before in any other editors?
As this is Unreal Engine 2.0 it can be wonky.
Here you can find some offline instructions. A full guide on building maps for Rainbow Six 3 :) https://www.moddb.com/games/tom-clancys-rainbow-six-3-raven-shield/downloads/rvsmaps-tutorial
If you have any questions let me know as I'm probably one of the few and certainly the mapper with the most recent releases such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_PYyJ12SaA and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZi-Pu7nWHI for example.
I will try to help any way I can. Though it might be easier to chat to other mappers too and those with UE2 experience in the #game-development channel on the Discord.
You will get the hang of it again ;)
Try the SDK on ModDB too if you're going to do weapons or whatever
I can program in Python and can sort of read C and do some basic stuff so I'm hoping I can figure this out.
And no mod support, no map editor, no mission editor or other editors.
Gaming today is so different and bad than yesteryears. Some are truly epic like GTA V (but a decade old now), RDR2 (half a decade old now) and such but again, it's infested with shrieking voices that doesn't appeal to me.
I like this game the most.
"retired" from gaming
I'm looking for some map making help! I am pretty experienced myself in this, however have a odd freezing glitch when i begin a custom map, cant even move, then it crashes. :( not sure what is wrong.
I am a 2D/3D graphic designer and modeler/animator, i design my own assets, texture them, bake them, scale them, etc. I got most of that down pat, it is just the .ini and .int files that seem to screw things up but at least i was able to see the map in the list, click it, load it, see the actual level layout for the planning screen, but once it loaded, just freezes and crashes. really wanna test out my map....:(
