It does work with Windows 10, but you have to make the game run in a borderless window in order for it to work properly (It will flicker if you try to run it in fullscreen).

First you have to modify the ravenshield.ini file in directory:
<STEAM DIRECTORY>\steamapps\common\rainbow six 3 gold\system\

Modify the line:
StartupFullscreen=True
to be
StartupFullscreen=False

Save the ini file.

Next you have to use a borderless window app such as:
Borderless Gaming
Borderless Gaming Free[github.com] or
Westech Borderless Gaming[westechsolutions.net]

This will solve the issue with the flickering screen. Otherwise, the game works just like it did before.

Thank you for the screen flicker fix. :D

I just upgraded to Windows 10, and decided to play a bit when I ran into the problem.

is there any alternative way to resolve flickering issue with full screen option ?
I followed what you said Athanatos, but I couldn't find the line: startupfullscreen=true. I did find file folders labled as startup and startupwithlauncher, however, opening both of these I couldn't find the line startupfullscreen. Can you help me?

I havent been able to find a solution for the flickering in fullscreen yet :rcry:

Leopard_501, are you not able to find a RavenShield.ini (the line has to be in this file, use notepad to open this file) file in your System directory at all? If you cannot find it, you might have to run the game once before to have that .ini file generate. If you do have a RavenShield.ini file and the line is not in that file, you can try adding it yourself under the [WinDrv.WindowsClient] section of the file. Example of the section in my RavenShield.ini file below:

[WinDrv.WindowsClient] WindowedViewportX=2560 WindowedViewportY=1440 FullscreenViewportX=640 FullscreenViewportY=480 TextureMinLOD=0 TextureMaxLOD=12 Brightness=0.500000 Contrast=0.500000 Gamma=1.000000 UseJoystick=False CaptureMouse=True StartupFullscreen=False ScreenFlashes=True MinDesiredFrameRate=10.000000 NoFractalAnim=False

Let me know if that works / doesn't work!

I purchased the game,followed your advice and got borderless game app and all is good.
Thank you so much Athanatos! I found the file and changed the coding, now I just have to get the borderless gaming app. Again, thanks for the help, I just recently got this game and was super pissed that it didn't work on Windows 10 (I should have thought of it before downloading) but now I get to enjoy it again! Thanks! Also, would anyong know if Steam will update it to Windows 10?

I dont think Ubisoft even cares for Raven Shield anymore, so dont expect them to update it. Hopefully someone can find a fix for fullscreen, but in the meantime, this fix works well.

Glad it is working for everyone!

Theres a quicker way to fix this without doing all that. Just when you're in the game press ALT+ENT to enter window mode.

go to your settings in the game to set the resolution. The higher the resolution, the bigger the window when the game starts. I got mine at 1024 and it almost the same as Full Screen

No flicker in full screen 1920x1080 here? Since upgrading to win10 I don't even need to hit Alt+Enter to make it go full screen (on win7 it always started in a 640x480 window for me, despite being set to run full screen hd).

Interesting... May I ask what your specs are? Maybe this is video card dependent.
