This wrapper fix sounds interesting, maybe there is a way to get the text to be clear. If you want try the registry patch --> http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Tom_Clancy%27s_Rainbow_Six:_Rogue_Spear#Windows_10_crash_at_Start-Up
I have Win 10 x64 and I didn't require any registry patches of any sort. Can play the game full screen and fullest details without any problems.
Try reinstalling redistributables. I had a very similar text problem with the original Killing Floor that reinstalling DX9 stuff fixed.
If I remember correctly, the EXE for Rogue Spear is the same as Raven Shield but with a parameter. I'll check later for you.
Keep in mind, it may look a bit different since I have it on UPlay.
Either that or they have x86 windows 10 but they are too nub to really know the difference. IDK.
If they provided an actual explination I would believe it but this wishi-washi ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of "it works like nothing" "I own it on Uplay" stuff is just too uninformative and uncredible.
I recommend cutting this blind bat chase they are putting you on and just Googling "PC gaming wiki" and going to the Rogue spear page for an actual solution.
LOL, whatever dude.
I would go as far to take some screenshots and even make a video if you don't believe me, but with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude of yours, it's just not worth it.
I'm off to enjoy the game flawless on my Win 10 x64 installation without the need of some noob ass "PC Gaming Wiki" solution to play my game.
Cheers
Here's how I got this amazing old school game to run on my Windows 10:
This uses a virtual machine, so if your not game for that, then I don't know. If you're like me, it feels like the only option.
I have an ISO of my original game disk.
I installed VirtualBox [www.virtualbox.org] , then scoped this article which will instructs you on running Windows XP for free in a virtual environment [lifehacker.com]
I realized after I got the virtual XP running, I needed to Insert Guest Additions CD [www.howtogeek.com] to enable folder sharing. Also had to tweak some network settings [www.sevenforums.com] to get the internet to work.
Once I got the internet to work in the virtual machine, and a folder shared, I got the ISO onto the virtual machine, installed Daemon Tools, mounted the ISO, installed it, and viola. It works like a charm.
Ghost recon works on steam for me. Oddly there was a point shortly after upgrading from windows 7 where some games didn't work. After several months the games magically worked without me having to do anything. I have several dosbox games that didn't work at first then suddenly worked out the blue. I'm thinking M$ must be secretly pushing compatibility updates without saying it. Windows 10 seems a lot more friendlier in old games than it once did.
What graphics card you have?
