Realistic Ragdoll Mod
Perhaps you've noticed how comically bad the ragdolls in RS3 can occasionally be. They're not particularly convincing.

So, I did some work about a year ago that I'm just getting around to sharing tonight.

Realistic Ragdolls for RS3

What this does is replace the karma definitions for the game's default ragdoll. I've added several new rigid bodies to the definition, resized many of them, reconfigured the constraints of the joints, and given each body a new realistic mass value.

The end result is dead bodies that look like dead bodies. Kinda the whole point of ragdoll physics.

EDIT: I know the file size is smaller; it's missing the "rainboskel" definition, which appears not to be used in-game at all. You might want to back up your old *.ka file just in case, though.

Hey any way you could figure out why the ai stack up on doors wrong..like your ragdoll mod very nice.

Download was detected as a virus, I've never had this problem downloading from ModDB before but twice it said the file was a virus. It's a trojan horse I would check if you have it.

...a trojan horse? In a karma file? I am incredibly doubtful. I could scan it for kicks I suppose.

EDIT: Just as I suspected, it's a 7-zip file that I put together myself. Might I ask what antivirus software you're using @PhoenixSword01?

Windows defender

I'm not particularly familiar with Windows defender, but it sounds like Microsoft's own antivirus. I guess I can understand if you're wary of the file. *shrug* If you do use it, I'd love to hear your feedback. Otherwise, no harm done.

EDIT: I've been tweaking the physics a little bit. Adjusted the spacing of the upper legs and modified the range of motion for the lumbar and hip joints.

How do I install the mod?
Phoenix Jul 8, 2016 @ 3:26pm
I would imagine you replace the files with the ones you downloaded
BeanTheWaif Jul 8, 2016 @ 5:47pm
I tried to download it and my computer said it was a virus

You simply replace the ragdoll.ka file in the karmadata folder. But apparently Windows is convinced it's a virus. :(

this mod is great thanks

I've just uploaded some fresh tweaks I'd recently been working on! I noticed arms were too flexible and able to draw too close to the chest, so I made the clavicle more rigid. I've also introduced rotation for the forearms, since our hands don't actually rotate at the wrist.

Have you seen the animations in rogue spear is there a way where you can mimic those or no they have some cool animations?
Jericho Nov 4, 2016 @ 10:24am
I'm afraid not; I can barely recall Rogue Spear and I'm not an animator. What I'm doing here is purely mathematical - modifying physical constants in the game's ragdoll definitions. Whatever "death animations" result from my changes happen purely by simulated physical impulse.

However, if you know of a good source for learning to modify games built on the Unreal Engine 2.0, I'd love to make more in-depth mods. As far as I can tell, the only significant modding resources out there are for more recent iterations of the Unreal Engine. Rather depressing, since I have some ideas for RS3 and UT2004 that I can't quite implement without in-depth documentation for UE2.0
