SOLUTION: How to play Raven Shield online now that UBISoft has shut it down

I have created a patch for the game called "OpenRVS", which fixes many issues now that UBISoft has decided to shut down the multiplayer.

1. CD keys and UBI IDs are no longer needed to get online.
2. Connection issues are fixed, so many servers will no longer experience the dreaded "server not responding" error.
3. Your server list will once again have some options to connect to in it.
4. Server owners can ban players via IP address instead of the now-useless cd key id.
5. And more fixes as well, details in the readme.

The patch is easy to install. You can get it here:

Install this and it will work just fine without creating an account. Lots of people use it and there are several servers up :)

I just tried the servers one by one and no one was found to any player, the servers are empty. Is there a forum where you post hours of when you connect and all that?

So all i do is download the newest 0.7 version and that's all nothing else?

If you are just joining a server, yes that's all it takes.

If you plan to host your own server, you should also grab the R6GameService Patcher which prevents server-wide lag spikes. The R6GameService Patcher is also available on rvsgaming.org.

UPDATE: There's also the small matter of the 10-second lag/delay when clicking the"Multiplayer" menu option from the RVS main menu. It's partially solved, see this post: http://obsoletesuperstars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=782

now i'm having an issue. i can't find any lobbies in the game.. i downloaded the files that were posted in the threat but still no lobbies. idk if im doing somwthing wrong. can anyone help?

so i dl ur patch but it didnt work. i follow instructions on the readme page. copied the 3 files and put it into my rainbow directory. is this not the correct directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rainbow Six 3 Gold

You're off by one folder, if that's where you're putting them.

Read closer. That "/" doesn't mean it's an alternate name.

guys does anyone remember Joules Killing House and other mission servers? they were so cool but I cant find them anymore since ubi removed the list.

Twi, thank you so much for all of your efforts in getting Raven Shield playable for multiplayer. These past few days I've played have been wonderful, all thanks to you. Joining a server and seeing 5-6 people playing coop brings a big old grin on my face. :)

source of the mist which server(s) names and what times do you find people online? I still cant find anyone online and have tried like every server on the list

I find my best luck on the OS (Obsolete Superstars) server! I just started playing, but I've found a good handful of players playing at all hours of the day.
