Good custom maps for sniping

I never sniped much in this game because most maps just arent conducive to it, but I was wondering if there were any custom maps that are designed for this? I like sniping but most engagements are 100m or less in standard maps

Wake Island! I designed it specifically for sniping :) the only thing is its not available for single player at the moment only for online coop mission/tango hunt on the ALLR6.com servers in game. The map will download automatically along with the other mods and updates like new guns, new sniper rifle too, new sights/scopes and maps.

Also I have several other new maps that are good for sniping! Cold Storm, Dam, Blizzard, Fire especially. Heres two videos from Cold Storm maps, Dam! I have some other new maps too but they are more medium/cqb. I don't have a video for Blizzard though. But these are all on the servers.

I will eventually be working on a way for people to play these at home without being online but not until my next map or two. I am remastering Operation Lucky Snare jungle map from Rogue Spear Covert Ops as well as a new map I'm making called Sandstorm set in the Afghanistan mountains with a canyon and caves, waterfall sniping position and everything.

Few off the top of my head that have some good sniping in it are:

Asia (above average for sniping)
Bordertown (average for sniping)
Frostbite (very good for sniping)
Open Market (decent sniping)
BDK Clocktower (decent sniping)

There's quite a few custom jungle-themed maps out there that are very open, i've personally never liked them, but there are several out there. The site rvs.go2 has just about every custom map pre-2012 ever made on there. There are a lot of ridiculously huge open maps on there you can download. I just don't play them so I don't know the names.

One thing you can also do if you want to play sniper solo on some maps- is just take a backup recon guy (with high stealth & observation) on green with a silenced mp5k on permanent recon mode - and use him to manually clear out any CQC areas so you can get to your sniper perches. Then just park him in a corner leaving him on recon mode.

In the mean time I did something perhaps somewhat eccentric. I started using noclip to go to otherwise inaccessible areas (such as roof tops) and snipe from there. Kind of hit or miss because levels don't expect you to be there obviously, so it doesnt always work because of invisible walls or what have you, but still interesting and can make some non-sniper maps sniper-able
