Retail copy of Raven Shield wont launch of Windows 10

Sorry if this isn't exactly the correct place for this but its hard to find any active community that might be able to help trouble shoot this.

I recently purchased a retail copy of RS3 Raven Shield and for some reason it doesn't want to launch after install. I've tried applying the 1.6 patch and I've even tried changing the .ini file to launch in windowed mode just in case and neither seem to work. This will happen regardless of what compatibility mode I set it to. Only other thing that stood out to me is that it said that this was the 'OEM' version of the game on the disc.

Here are my specs:

Windows 10
Anthlon X4 860K
Radeon R9 270X

You are correct if by retail you mean boxed version. The boxed version of Rainbow six 3 Raven Shield is not Win 10 compatible. The Steam version of the game is Win 10 compatible.

Well that sucks, it's not fair that owners of the original game have to buy it again from Steam.

I installed my retail disc initially and it worked fine under windows 10. You sure you aren't just missing older directx libraries?

I dont know why someone brought it back up the original guy probably doesnt even play anymore but it would be nice if he came back because it works for some people but doesnt for others. They need the NO CD patch http://allr6.com/discuss/viewtopic.php?id=101 first of all.

Ah. I just checked most recent post date. At least I wasn't the one commiting necromancy, lol.

It is somewhat odd that some people apparently need the no-cd patch. Only thing I can think of there is it having to do with most modern disc players being blu-ray capable.
The one I have in my computer is over 10 years old, cannabalized from a older computer that died via power surge.

Yes this is the solution, after updating to patch 1.06 then download this no-cd application and paste it over your game directory and the game will launch. Thanks Recognition. for posting this fix.
