But anyways.
It is somewhat odd that some people apparently need the no-cd patch. Only thing I can think of there is it having to do with most modern disc players being blu-ray capable.
The one I have in my computer is over 10 years old, cannabalized from a older computer that died via power surge.

Yes this is the solution, after updating to patch 1.06 then download this no-cd application and paste it over your game directory and the game will launch. Thanks Recognition. for posting this fix.
