How to play in Windowed Mode

Am using Windows 10. Installed RB6 Gold Edition.

Want to play in "Windowed Mode @ 1920x1080". I used to be able to do that with the old retail version with windows 7 by using "alt-enter".

The reason? in fullscreen mode, my desktop icons are pushed to different screens and the steam interface too. And when I alt-tab to get to another screen it goes through this blinking process and minimizes the game. When in windowed mode and I alt-tab, the game stays open and my icons aren't pushed all over my desktops

Here is what I tried.

I Set in-Game graphics to 1920x1080

You can use "alt-Enter"....AFTER....you start the mission. If you try it before (at menu screen or planning) the game will crash.

After the mission starts, when I hit alt-enter, the game reverts from fullscreen 1920x1080 to windowed 640x480 resolution.

I edited the "default.ini"
windowed to 1920x1080
fullscreen to 1920x1080
(changing the "fullscreen=false" only produces 640x480 window)

I also edited the "Rainbow6.ini" to read the same (1920x1080)

Unfortunately, everytime I try to start the mission and hit alt-enter, the window still reverts to 640x480.

When I check the .ini files, one of them has changed from 1920x1080 back to 640x480.....even though I changed the values and saved the edited files.

I changed those files MANY TIMES and saved them, thinking maybe I didn't save it properly.

I got it to work ONE TIME at 1920x1080. Unfortunately, the window was bigger than the screen so it cut off part of the bottom of the game (ammo counter).

Any suggestions?

Even if you edit Ravenshield.ini the menu screen is always at 640x480 and many systems can't even display that properly anymore. Your main desktop resolution is 1920x1080 right? It should work then but since you say it wont, Windows 10 is a ♥♥♥♥♥.

Right click Ravenshield.exe and go to Properties and set to run as Administrator. Also try Compatibility for Windows XP.

If it still doesn't work you can try a borderless window software. Such as this: https://westechsolutions.net/sites/WindowedBorderlessGaming/
