Will an old retail copy of the original ravenshield work for steam?

I'm visitnig my parent's in a few weeks and plan on dusting off the ol'ravenshield. I was wondering if the cd key will work to redeem on steam? I bough it on release day. If it does, will it include the expansions?... I was able to redeem Rome Total War this way.



BONUS question: If I buy the ubisoft version, will I be able to play online against steam players (if a community is still alive).

There are adversarial servers too always with people in them daily.
The game uses people from Uplay, Steam and original copies all together now.

If I buy the ubisoft version, can I play with steam users?
I think I'll just pass getting my cd from my parent's place, and possibly just give it to someone else interested in the community.

The game doesn't use steam matchmaking so there is no diffrence between the steam version and the CD version. To play you need to install the game, patch it to v1.60 using the patch from the link below, and then either install OpenRvS v1.0 or the AllR6 version which also installs a sound fix for DLC weapons.

Note Steam or Uplay version dont need 1.6 patch as they already come with it. So you just need ALLR6 2.3 patch. You will be able to play with everyone. I say get Steam version though.
