voice is optional, but adding quality voice always improve the game
Still needs a lot of work.
there are two reasons devs do this. either the core gameplay sucks or they still have nothing but this vertical slice to show for it.
even compared to ninja gaiden this looks subpar, to say the least.
To begin with, the combat seems very bare bones. Yes I know this isn't the usual cover shooter and you have to take risks in middle of mobs to execute actions, but the basic move set is really..basic. I can't say if more swordplay and moves will be revealed as the game progresses but seems doubtful. Please do something about the unorthodox grunt enemy sounds. It was irritating to hear "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH" after literally every 5-6 seconds. Add more variety to the sound effect at least.. Yeah the AI is basic as hell but that also dials back to my first complaint - a rather plain looking move set. Also, where's the weapon variety? The entire game play is more akin to cinematic action flick.
All that being said, execution animations look good and execution moves seem to have some variety too.
In all honesty, the game looks rough and rather stale from gameplay standpoint. I am not sure if the devs would add more to the gameplay to make it less brain dead and more exciting - considering we are not that far from the release date. If I have to compare, this isn't even on par with Devil's Third that, despite being a bad game, at least had good melee move sets. Of course, it would be downright unfair to compare this game to Ninja Gaiden because the difference is day and night in terms of gameplay variety and complexity.

There seems to be a lot of improvements but I really can't stand the moaning most mobs do when killed, it's way over the top and too frequent! I really hope you can turn off the moaning volume down or completely off.
Maybe this is only an issue with english VO and it will not be so off putting with japanese voices? I hope so.
Agree my expectation is dwindling as i am watching and observing its gameplay videos. Initially I thought this game has 85% being good, but now It seems 50% chance, either be good or not..
