Land of the Vikings Discussion Board!
Welcome to the Land of the Vikings discussion board!

We are a small team of indie developers and have been working on this project for the past couple of years. Individually we bring experience from a number of titles. As a team however, this is our first collaboration and we are excited to share the results of our extensive gaming and development experience with you, the players.

Land of the Vikings is built from the ground up by gamers for gamers. In our understanding it is impossible to feign such passion. The care and love for the community will surely be noticed!

During the early access period we will frequently raid the Steam discussion boards so feel free to speak up, we do read your comments! We aim to develop this ambitious title with the player in mind and are therefore interested in, and will genuinely consider, your suggestions.

Updates will be pushed on a relatively regular basis and will be divided in three categories:
-Hotfixes (Containing rapid fixes for urgent bugs or balance changes)
-Improvements (Gameplay improvements or small amounts of additional content)
-Content updates (New features or large amounts of new content)

I like the battle update, it makes warfare more fun like if you dont invite your norse neighbours on raids they will get mad and raid you, however the game is still filled with a ♥♥♥♥ tons of bugs, trees that wont be cut down, boats that doesnt really get repaired, houses that wont pick up the stuff they need, runes I cant pick to better my city and so on, but a new bug has come (as far as i know) the game now zooms in to the center of earths core (under ground)

Please do some bug fixes here and there, and also i wish the were a diplomacy tab/option on getting help from your neighbours when you are under attack, just like enemies can get reinforcements or perhaps aid your norse neighbours.

But keep up the good work, I hope to see more things to come (perhaps a story quest of sorts)
I've played this game for a dozen of hours now.
I like games like this, my favourite in this genre is Life is Feudal Forest Village.

Some suggestions, things I would improve:
-When I move the camera, a blurry horizontal line appears. Even if I lower the grapihic setttings, and I have a very good pc.
-At loading screen, I always get the same tooltip/fact (about how Viking ships where both for trade and for warfare or something). Steam, Windows pc.
-Trees regrow like a popup, I understand. But it's too ugly, should be more gradual.
-I often have stone in stock that can't be found in any building. Population 'a few dozen', 80 stone that can't be located anywhere but is available for spending.
-When I continue playing from a save game, the information icons I already read appeared again. They're about the Coal/Iron area. Since I already read them and I have mines placed at those areas, they don't make sense anymore and shouldn't reappear.
-I should be able to deselect 'cutting trees/rock', I think? Becouse I don't know how.
-I want to be able to destroy some goods in markets for example, I want to be able to if they're full to make room for other stuff. But I can't.
-The 'select a building to build' menu looks like somthing you have to swipe to right or left to find the bulding you want. But I have a keyboard and mouse and scrolling (from left to right to see the rest of the list) is insanely slow.
-You are able to 'lock' an information window in your screen. I wish these improvements: I want to be able to make those windows bigger/smaller so I see all the information without using the scrollbar. The locked infowindow should not disappear when you save+close the game and reopen it again. I should be able to have multiple infowindows visible and locked at the same time
-If temporarily want a building to pause, I can Close it and/or fire the employees. If I only Close the building, why aren't the employees joining the Laborers until their building is Opened again?

finally got a laptop now i can play im so hype...
Очень много ошибок. Когда население больше 100 человек начинаются сплошние глюки. Торговие корабли не всегда торгуют, даже за 8 дней. Герой в поселении после 1 нападения пропадает и больше неактивен. Поля автоматически не всегда собираються, даже при включенной галочке. Покупать даную игру пока рано, следите за обновлениями.
Camera control is... bad. Minimap can be very helpful :)

I'm playing for several days and I find situations that don't satisfy me:
The mysterious plant and the lost dagger are repeated quite a bit.
The management and distribution of resources is confusing.
The market fills to its maximum capacity and does not decrease, the merchants are standing there doing nothing, food in the houses is always lacking and production is high (ganjas bread...). The inhabitants do not buy in the market. Nobody collects the fish obtained. The worker list is confusing and doesn't work well. There are villagers who glide on the ground (hunters).
The tutorial can be improved a lot to know at all times what is happening in the game, chain of creation - distribution - storage - consumption - trade. I hope you solve it or explain it soon. Thank you for your patience.

Who collects the materials, fisherman's cabin-Warehouses-mill- commercial melle....everything is full.
Whoever buys food from the market has also reached the limit and is not empty.

Quien recoge los materiales, cabaña del pescador-Almacenes-molino- todo está lleno.
Quien compra los alimentos del mercado, también ha llegado al límite y no se vacía.

I wanted to make a good review, but it sounded a bit not too good, so I'll put it here instead for the moment.

Thought I enjoyed it up to some point, but once your village is big enough it tends to become overdemanding for your micromanagement. Devs did some job to make it easier, but it doens't helps enough because there's still lots of thing that you need to do manually like animals slaughtering or repairing fishing boats. The bigger village gets, the more process should be delegated.

Plus at some point my food consumption agressively rised. Yeah, I've got more pops and all, but I also like tripled amount of people working at food production buildings.

But I actually enjoyed a game, for the moment it's the best viking related strategy game I can think about except for CK2/3. But just when it should become really Viking game (i did one raid and defended of other, rather liked the mechanics), it just feels so overwhelming I don't actually want to play anymore.
Just played this game. it was nice and it had a great feel. I doubt I'll play it more than twice. Perhaps they should have added a conquest type map, where you can conquer the local and far off lands, not just the raids. You could fill out trade routes with those other locations and work together on conquering more lads. Perhaps you are in control of a clan that has generational power over the village and you send out your heirs to control the other villages you have conquered, or you yourself go off to conquer more and more lands, and each time you have to rebuild a village either from ground up or after conquering one. there could be a good story built from there, in that there could be inter family turmoil, or perhaps one of your family members gets overthrown and you are forced to avenge them and take back your lands. lots of room for a larger game.
Hi . Loving the feel and accuracy of the game. But experiencing an issue with the tailor and the blacksmith. Neither seem to produce the full array of products. This is especially challenging with weapons....somehow the ability to train archers becomes non existent. Am I perhaps missing something? Overall the game is a joy to play and I am well and truly hooked. Thank you for the excellent work thus far.
