"Found a way to remove DPET from start up"
"Search Registry Editor on your Start search bar
Follow this path
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Delete DPET "
>>> EXPLANATION of what partisan said in more detail:
1 - In the search box on the taskbar, type regedit, then select Registry Editor (Desktop app) from the results.
2 - open the path said above in the registry editor.
3 - when you get there you have to right click on the icon and then choose the delete option.
>>> DELETE REMAINING FILES:
in my case i still had issues to uninstall all existing files so i installed a tool called unlocker 1.9.2, if you have the same issue follow this steps to delete the remaining files.
1 - install unlocker >>> https://unlocker.uptodown.com/windows.
2 - after installing unlocker you will have to find the files by yourself. they should be in C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common.
3 - find the folder named DPET and right click on it.
4 - find the unlocker option, it should look like a magic wand.
5 - a popup will apear, you have to select the option to delete the file. if it is on lock mode then you have to click kill mode, else just click the ok button.
6 - when done restart the computer (ithis step is optional but i recomend you do it regardless of the file being deleted or no) if unlocker failed to delete a pop up should show and you have to click on delete on next reboot.
(im unsure if there is a way to do this on linux but i belive you can find a diferent uninstaller tool that may help, just search for a third party software to forcefully uninstall files)
Edited:
What I thought was an individual made app is owned by a big ai data company. That's alarming. I looked at the DPET app properties and it said it was owned and copyrighted by a company named Zingfront. The website About me states "Founded in November 2015 and headquartered in Beijing, ZingFront has branches all over the world. It is a platform enterprise focusing on advertising marketing, providing industry intelligence analysis and creative creation services for advertising, app, mobile game and e-commerce industries".
After so many tries, I was able to uninstall it finally!
> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
> delete the "DPET" folder. I shredded mine after throwing it into the Recycle Bin.
> restarted my pc
> opened Uninstall Apps List
> uninstalled DPET from list
