Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood

Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood

is anyone running this on Windows 10?
This is one of my all time favourite games & I miss it so much. But I just upgraded to Windows 10 so would like to know if any other Windows 10 users are running this fine before I buy it.

Thanks in advance!

So I got it running on Windows 10 about 2 weeks back. Here's what I did.

1. go to the Main Game Folder and you should see the application executable, i.e eib.exe
2. Right click, select properties, and then compatability mode tab.
3. Set compatablity mode to Windows 8 (or anything above).
4. I also set "run as Administrator" to on. These basic steps should be enought to run the game without any further problems
5. Finally, the last two things I did is I set OpenGL triple Buffering to on and limit frame rate target control to 60 fps through the AMD Radeon Control Center options for this game specifically. These are additional steps, Im not sure neither saying that these are absolutely necessary. Game should run fine with just the Compatablity mode settings switched on.

One last odd thing I encountered is that when the game launches, Steam overlay appears to be disabled or unable to pop up as regular via Shift-Tab. Too bad, as this means I couldn't control the game via Steam Controller.

How'd you run the first one? (Road to Hill 30) I can't seem to get it past the black screen with background audio on startup, even tried the same fixes I applied for Earned in Blood, but no dice. (Win 10, AMD R9 270x latest Relive Crimson drivers)

I was able to run them on my laptop and PC (specs in profile description) with Windows 10 without having to do anything. All games are Steam versions.

uhh... your group page is for BiA: Hells Highway, not Earned in Blood (or even Road to Hill 30 for that matter).
This thread is in the Earned in Blood forum.

Further more, the multiplayer in Hells Highway was & still is complete trash compared to the multiplayer in Earned in Blood.

so yeah...... I'll pass

Yes, Earned in blood runs fine on windows 10. Same with Road to Hill 30.
Yes, I am able to run it on Windows 10 64 bit...no "Administrator" or "Compatibility Modes" required.

For graphical crashes and the dreaded "Application has been blocked from accessing the graphics hardware" message:

Right click the game and select the "Local Files" tab. Click "Browse Local Files". Right click and Edit "EIB.INI". Control-F to find "StartupFullscreen=True" and change it to "StartupFullscreen=False". Save the file. Brothers in Arms will now run in windowed mode without crashing.

It's not as good as Full Screen mode, but as none of the various methods I found using Google worked, it's a lot better than nothing. This fix probably would have worked on my Retail copy of BIA as well, but I bought the Steam version in an attempt to fix exactly this issue. Oh, well.

This fix also works for Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30. The only difference is that you edit "BIA.INI" instead.

Guys! Even this is an older thread this is the top result when you google so I post this here. I just figured out how to play the CD version on WIN10. I copied the cracked exe from rth30 AND some files i thought they look important for the exe to work as there are: bia.int, Core.int, Core.u, License.int, Startup.int, XboxLive.int. Hope someone can confirm cause I had a long struggle with fckn Starforce nearly breaking my windows10^^
