Does this game have different/stronger versions on the same Mons i.e. shiny or potent/perfect?

Yes they are called Exotic form.
When you do the fusion of 2 Exotic Tomomon you will get a Exolink Tomomon.
For limited/legendary Tomomon, they have ultimate rare form called Exodian.

yes, they do show in overworld, they also have special particle effect around them
