Stuck in Sunken Battleship Quest (Game-breaking Glitch)
Hello all; I am running into a game-breaking bug during the Sunken Battleship quest, toward the end of the Rianda Battleship. I am able to get to the engine room, but nothing happens. The quest marker did not move several doors before and nothing I do can fix this. Has anyone run into this issue?

Whenever the quest marker doesn’t move, it’s usually because you didn’t “go through” it and went your own route instead, even if you are at the ultimate destination stated in the quest step. They made this game incredibly linear in some ways, and it can be frustrating. Not sure if this is the issue you’re having but it’s the first that came to mind because it’s happened to me several times.

Unfortunately; no matter how many times I go through the quest marker; nothing changes.

Oh weird. Are you able to fast travel anywhere? Can you search for any remaining bots you maybe haven’t defeated? Did you go through the side-scroller areas (I can’t remember if there are any in this ship)? Have you tried restarting the game? Do you have a second save file in case nothing works and it’s truly broken? I would upload a clip of your issue to YouTube or something and share here if it’s easy for you to do.

I just retried the whole dungeon; still running into the same issue. I think it may be caused by game not realizing that a room is completed as one of the rooms in the path to the quest marker is still showing red and wont open.

I ran into a slightly different bug there that might be related. I got to the first locking enemy room and was using the Battle Armor when I somehow voided out and got sent back to an area out of the room. Running back to the room revealed that it was still locked so I had to load to a previous save because there is no way to progress without possibly completely leaving the area or activating a trigger in a different area.

Unfortunately, I have no other save before the dungeon and for the life of me I can find no trigger. As I go through the dungeon (warping to the beginning) I do get baddies that show up; but that is the extent of movement I am seeing in the dungeon.

Have you tried forcing a game over?

Yup; I have done gameovers both before the quest marker and after in the chance it will jump start it.

Can you upload the save file so we can check and some might be able to find a solution.

Only uploading SaveData1.sav and SaveData100.sav will do.

@spike984,
Almost an hour, your comment is still hidden and checking by Steam automated content check system. I believe this is most likely because the website you used wasn't really that trustworthy.

Anyway, I managed to download your save, and I noticed something weird, did you use cheat engine to modify the game?
spike984 May 3, 2024 @ 1:48pm
Yes, cheat happens specifically.

Sorry to say, you most likely broke your game if you did use a cheat engine.
And I don't think I can help in this case.

Thank you for trying. I'll probably see if Bandai-Namco responds to my customer service request or if an update comes in the near future.

Yeah, you can try explaining the situation to the dev team and see if they can help.

For reference my game broke in the same area in the Sunken Battleship playing the game on PS5. No cheat engine, or anything.

The game allowed me to place a battery into the slot to open the door and move onto the next room. Then the following room allowed me to place a battery as well, but that door never opened. I then returned to the first battery room and it then prompted me to place a battery and moved the quest marker into the slot. The problem is that the battery is already inserted and the game does not detect it. It also autosaved after the battery was placed so loading just loads the game into a broken state. There were no fights at all in any of the rooms.

Nothing I do or try gets it to detect the inserted battery. 65 hours into the game and it breaks here is just garbage. If I teleport out of the room I also cannot even re-enter, as the door is locked and red from the outside. Here is a video showing the game in a broken state: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stuIPbc1lZ8

Restarting the game, reloading saves, leaving the area completely and performing other content and quests and returning, nothing fixes this. Once you are locked out of progressing you are screwed. Guess I am done with the game. Perhaps they will fix it at a later date. Good luck to all, and hope you do not encounter the same problem
