Personally, I would say at least 60% of gameplay is involved in traveling and engaging in combat with your tank/mech.

Also the amount of parts, upgrades and customization will blow your mind. Those are only about half way to fully upgraded. And you can have multiples, like 3 different tanks, or two bikes, one for racing and one for combat etc.
You use them a ton. Probably 80-90% of the game's fighting will be vehicular. It's preferable to hand to hand. You even use vehicles/bots in dungeons.
