Eye of the beholder I suppose.
Same but I do agree with a lot of his points.
They were overly ambitious with vehicle selection. And while some of them might be fun for someone out there there's just a lot of overlap without strong reasons.
Maybe if they were more generous with the grind and weapon diversity early on then it would encourage people to experiment. Also if exploration itself was more rewarding. They could've had some repeatable mission with a randomly generated dungeon that would challenge your loadout or something.
Tank and Jumpbot mog combat, Bike for map travel, hopper for comfortable indoors travel, and something that hovers. Trade off hopper for an armor when you start needing to move blocks and you still cruise through everything.
Despite the relatively minor differences that engines and suspensions give they're really stingy with dropping them. Been grinding for mythic parts for like 10 hours and some vehicles I can't get anything better than a purple, assuming anything drops at all.
It's still a fun game but there's a lot they could've done to polish it up. Felt like a lot of stuff just got ignored.
The Thruster part for Hovertank and Hovercar is super fun and gives me a real mecha feel in the combat. AND it's super useful, lets you use nitro for real combat instead of niche dodge attempts for weird boss attacks.
I'm hard pressed to think of many parts I enjoyed. Outrigger is pretty fun for siege tank gameplay but it's just straight up damage. Flaming Boost was super fun if a little weird to use, Hoverjet makes WAY better use of it than the bike does.
Having extra armor or extra ammo never felt satisfying since it was just a minor numbers tweak in combat, especially when you have plenty of items and abilities that make them moot.
Every game that has travel banter should keep a log on what has been said before, to not repeat the same dialog every 5 minutes...
It's ok if it repeats once every hour I guess but this is crazy.
The tank is king, unless you’re on water or quicksand, then you can choose between the hover jet, or hover tank. The speed bike is pretty much the only option for making the long jumps. As the other “speed” vehicles usually won’t cut it.
Now that I’m at post game though, the battle arena forces you to deep dive the other vehicles available. However it leaves you at the mercy of the rng gods, trying to find better parts. So far the bounty missions have been the best way to accumulate, legendary, and mythic equipment.
All n all I think the good outweighs the bad, with this game. I’m still enjoying it. Probably one of the best titles I’ve played, in the last five years.
- stealth parts but mostly to easy
- vehicle combat but engine / suspension upgrades have no impact which one you chose only the weapon types are different and half of them are crap
- melee combat without upgrades on anything like weapons, armors just fists
- story wild mix which starts with demons living in peace in the desert and stealing from humans but then instantly shifts for most parts of the game to a human political plot and then at the end the developers remembered the demons and used them again
- open world but only copy paste boring points of interests like the temple which could have been more unique but despite the one which you travesrse to reach the second map all of them are tiny and copy pasted without surprises
- city builder which was really impressive too see the city grow from 2 shacks to a full blown big city but sadly not much too do there despite the shops
- combat in general too easy, kiting is 99% suvival chance
- third companion is unlocked way too late in the mainstory
- nowadays we normally have mainly anti white old men racism buit this game extended it to general anti human racism. i can't count how many time Beelzebuig said "stupid humans doing wars blablabla" while demons were portrayed as peace loving good guys
I liked the game in general but it is sadly a big design mess.
I on the other hand would have thought someone would blow a gasket over Anns dreadlocks... ohhhhh cultural appropriation everyone!...
