This demo didn't do a good job.
Played it for 40 minutes now, driving around the desert, trying to find anything really interesting. While there certainly were POIs, there was nothing to do at them. Ruins? Can't progress far into them. Enemy camps? No reason to fight them, they don't yield resources or XP. Radar tower? No the materials to fix it. While the general game play feels alright, this is not a good presentation of what will be done in the main game.

I would've preferred some simple quests to do, seeing how systems of discovery, crafting and leveling work with each other. Also, the characters repeat themselves to a ridiculous degree and the performance is a bit shoddy.

Not very strong first impressions after playing this.

Pretty much mirrors my experience - the demo really just showed off combat and vehicles but didn't show off what the actual game loop is going to be, what will motivate you to do things, etc. A restricted version of the hub city with 1 or 2 quests that send you to the same area would have been a lot better.

Yeah, certainly not gonna buy it on day 1.

Yeah either this is a really bad demo of a game or its going to be a really dull game. I spent about 30 mins and I couldn't help compare it to like vehicle combat from like borderlands 2. It wasn't terrible but there was no reason to kill or shoot or waste time with anything in the waste. I found a couple ruins. One had breakable rocks and at one point I had to jump out of the vehicle to crawl under something and I thought. Finally I found something but it was the flippin entrance I had just found a short cut to leave. I didn't have any issues with frame drop or stutter issues though. It was just dull.

chests in view that you can't access because the mech jump is 1cm short lol

i cant stand demos like that where they knowingly set you up for failure

it made me not want to buy it at all lol
During gameplay, the FPS like a nightmare, fight with a boss scorpion don't feel any motivation and rewards

I started at a fireplace. Had absolutely no clue what I was supposed to be doing. Punched a dinosaur. Tried to go into town. Quit.

Managed to come across some crates with the required parts for the radio tower in the tucked away area to the west but fixing it doesn't give you anything other than markers for waterbottles, cliffs etc that you'll have found already in your desperation; the results of achieving this goal was as virtually pointless as fighting boss enemies, no advantage, cutscene or even bookend of the demo.

I'm glad I could turn off the voices volume, they don't talk about anything relevant, just repeat meaningless dialogue. I've played games with worse combat but this certainly isn't very good. A large barren desert, yep that's exactly what it is. Enemies nearly respawn right in front of me, I destroyed a tank and a few soldiers, then look around and there's another group in the same spot.
So far the only thing I like is the cute boss scorpion

Agree 100% also don't try to climb any stone pillars. I've wasted 1hr trying to climb 2 of them...

Yeah it was a poor representation of the game. I don't want to discourage demos as we need more of them but they also need to be done properly. An empty map with nothing to do just makes your game look bad and doesn't tell me anything about how progression functions both narratively and gameplay.

Indeed. This look more like a tech demo than a demo showcasing a complete game.

It's kind of weird that they put it out knowing the kind of hype which must be brewing for it. Demos are your moment to try and amaze the player so they want your game. I don't know what they thought the selling point here was.
