the fact that we can only kick him. And enemies keep coming non-stop. I thought one's with guns would spawn too, but nope.
Nah the boss is good, ppl just need to git gud
I think this game's weakest aspect is explosives based on what I played in the demo- because they tend to one-shot (but maybe have damage falloff since they sometimes don't?) and their exact radius is unclear. Putting such an attack on the boss was a mistake imo because of that.
Notably, I only even saw two stages because I stopped bothering after almost killing it 5 times in a row and simply got impatient. Hearing it is apparently 4(!!) stages makes me glad I didn't continue because the first two were tedious at best, to be honest. Given there wasn't really any other mechanic other than run under it and spam kick till it dies- hopefully before any melee enemies managed to get to you. Or, alternatively, waste a lot of time by only kicking it once per cycle so you can make sure to clear the melees in-between.
It isn't about it being hard- it's about it being tedious and boring.
Without the mobs spawning, the boss would be a pushover and pretty pointless, I think it's too simple as is
Despite being the climactic fight, there's way more down time and much less adrenaline than in the normal levels.
The near instantaneous respawns of the club guys is really annoying too. Makes it feel like killing them is a waste of time.
Plus, the whole thing feels out of place. Its a complete 180 from the rest of the game's frantic pace. Most of the game is a speedrunners dream. But the boss would be their nightmare.
