More efficiant breeding

I'm at the part of the game where I'm just basically breeding frogs to fill out the frogdex and I'm trying to tell if im missing something or if its just how it is. I have to move through the frogs to select to breed with left and right arrows only. As my frog pool increases, so does the time it takes to find the frog I want. What is especially confusing is that there is the whole dex of the frogs where you can click them and give them names, but the best thing I would feel is if you could add the option in the dex to select the frog to breed there instead of the chalkboard, which also seems to switch the frog I have selected if I get a successful new breed. I'm guessing the other random traits like the mint and lavender come later.

Agreed that there should be an option like this.
I'm using the 'filter' a lot, filtering for 2 traits, and breeding for 1.
(ie filtering for a Sparkly Aqua frog, to use the Sparkly Aqua Aqua, and filtering for the Sparkly Cookie frog, to use the Sparkly Cookie Cookie, then breeding for both the Sparkly Aqua Cookie and the Sparkly Cookie Aqua! I hope I explained that okay)

Yeah, I knew I was missing something! I still do wish I could select the exact ones I wanted, since im already in the dex a lot. It also seems like the reshuffling issue I was having is just a bumping issue, like when I breed a new frog it bumps my current selection to the side. Wish it didn't do that, but the filtering at least seems to allow me to use the frog I just bread as well
