PSA: Recommended Gear

Yes, we already know/have a rough idea on what to use what to who needs what for min-maxing. We visit websites to know such stuff, especially with new characters. But the current update was a good addition that nobody talks about (yet).

When you go to your character Management and click on any of your units, you'll see an added "Recommended Gear" option on the lower left side, having a thumb up icon. No longer are you mandated to check from other websites to see their take; the game now tells you what gears are recommended for such characters. Again, "RECOMMENDED," not mandated. Case in point the game recommends you to equip Kestrel Xiao Lin with Crit DMG, but Spectral Bullet+ATK works better for me. Basically, it just gives you a rough idea on how to use a character.

Just pointing this good addition out. Takes out 50% of the guess work and cuts the trial-and-error by half when it comes to gearing. Keep in mind, it doesn't show what substats you need for what, so do your homework still.

Lol, those are some terrible recommendations the game gives. Who in the right mind puts HP on their R Titan? Or Crit Dmg on R Miya? No CDR on R Han Sorim? Spectral Blaze on Kim Sobin (aka no EE)? What kind of madness is this?

But really, for beginner accounts supstats are infinitely more important than sets.

Very fair point, of which I agree. They could've tweaked it a bit further basing on the gear sets that people use a lot in both PvE and PvP (hence why I used Kestrel as an example). Still, it's a great start for giving newbies a rough idea on how to gear characters.

I don't know where they get those recommendation. I am pretty sure nobody put spectral blaze on Kim Sobin. Even a random 2 piece spectral + broken set EE is better than that.

The recommendations might have meant something if tuning gear was reasonable in this game, but it can take months just to roll one perfectly tuned set depending on the whims of RNG. If they actually wanted to help people then come up with a better system.

Substats are probably more important than the sets themselves. Anti-Ground, anti-striker, DMG RES, etc. I hope they tinker it so that they can bring those up.
