What do dot colors on the radar/sonar/whatever mean?

... In particular, a white dot slightly bigger than the small fauna/drone blue and orange dots. I have one located between the comm antennas, and could not figure out what in the Davy Jones's locker is that thing (or where exactly it is) even when I am essentially over it.

... Ok, those white dots are the seismic sensors... The game is totally terrible on the tutorial/info part, essentially explaining nothing but basic controls, but NONE of the UI and more advanced stuff...
