Whats the catch here.

Premium heroes, premium pet rolls (one of pets gives extra drops, which is just ridiculous), premium shop tabs, inventroy expansion, seasonal pass, premium hero traits, cosmetics.

The real catch is, game is beatable in 5 hours. Devs did not bothered to finish campaign past act 3, so acts 4 and 5 are just grinding same zones you already visited in acts 1-3 without any story text or animation. And late-game is grinding same zones once again while farming cards and rising diffiiculty.

Compared to someting like "Grim Dawn" this is just mega-meh. Even "Honkai Star Rail" has more to offer.

You can quite literally get everything in this game, minus the cosmetics for free.

the extra drop chance spirit is of debatable worth since its a 1% chance to drop a random type of fuel, of which there are 3, and only 1 is worth anything.

There are other drop chance spirits, but they are just plain bad tbh as the stuff they increase the drop chance of is relatively common already.


Also while the fuel is worth something, its basically 1 gold, which is well, just 1 gold.

And you can trade that 1 gold for tons of stuff, including 250 lower fuels, then craft a lot. Or buy very strong item to kickstart your character and save many hours of grind.

And no, you can't get premium pass for free. And no, you can't get new heroes / traits for free (as far as i know, unless that got changed in season 3).

Only latest heroes: one from battle pass and one from shop. Everyone else can be acquired for hero emblems.

It's honestly extremely playable. Mistake I made first time i played it was thinking that it wasn't. when i got to mapping i couldn't get "FE" currency to keep progressing my gear and quit thinking it was pay to win. I came back after seeing a streamer I follow playing it and saying how it's one of his favorite games at the moment and tried it again and read more guides. FE making guides opened my eyesa to realizing all i really had to do was push to higher tier maps and with the right cards built up and such you start getting FE currency very decently which is what is used for the player market in-game and getting those legendary and gear you need for your build that you just haven't had luck finding. Honstly though the cost of cosmetics and the gacha system is a huge turn off but i couldn't care less about cosmetics, I have decided however to support the company a bit buy the battle pass, rewardss for it is kinda lackluster but oh well, it did unlock the new character for me though. I hear you can save up points to buy up to 2 premium character classes a season as free to play and with like 5 free classes to start, there is plenty to get you going.

Many free2play model games rake in a lot more cash than paid games ever could. Maximum access to an audience and the ability to continually offer new things to sell to their players.

Yeah, you can trade that 1 gold for a ton of weak or common stuff, this is true.

You could get new heroes and traits for emblems in season one.
Its only the newest/pass ones that costs money, and then they are for emblems later.

Also, of course a premium pass cost money, its premium.

You can only get 70 hero emblems during the entire season (if you reach the very endgame), it isn't even enough to get 1 hero or trait.

I have a bit from the previous seasons so I hadnt noticed.

So ya, unless they do an event or something, then if you started in this season you cannot get a new hero via emblems.
