why are people so upset over auto loot?

like i think it's better to not clog up your inventory with useless loot.
i prefer to pick it up myself but then again i'm not a speed runner!

I pick up everything and sell it to a vendor if I don't need it. Considering the structure of the map and levels I don't see an issue returning to the hideout every few maps ^^ Of course I don't know yet how that plays out later. Doesn't matter to me personally if picked up myself or not :D

Auto loot does not pick up gear. Only mats and you get a free auto loot on the battlepass

Who said they wanted to pick up gear? He only explained the mechanics of what the "auto pickup" does and doesn't do.

There was/is outrage over how autoloot is being handled in this game because traditionally ARPGs drop a bunch of loot and having to grab it all manually kinda ends up being a chore. So it appeared that the devs were locking a major QoL feature behind a paywall. I used to play another game that did something similar and that ended up being one of the reasons I quit so I can understand why people are complaining about it.

Now that the game has released it appears that autoloot isn't as important as we thought because you don't get gold for selling items and higher rarity stuff gives WAY more materials meaning it really isn't worth your time to grab everything that drops. This is also why the game's autoloot feature doesn't grab equipment. I'm only like level 30 and drops below purple rarity are already obsolete.

We also weren't aware that it was possible to get free access to the feature via the battlepass either.

I mostly agree. I noticed at the top right of my tablet I can literally click on the items on a list to loot.
