The Almost Good Game
You are like the last woman gay men sleep with, before they find out they are gay. I'll go play Brotato after this for at least a month, to cure my soul of this malice and degeneracy that you've turned your game into.

After 16k hours in PoE and nearly 1k hours in TLI + Another few thousand hours in previous Torchlight games & thousands of hours in different ARPG games, here is my honest review (rant).

Character/Build balancing - I am at a loss for words here. Season 5 - Carino 3 deals quintillions of DPS, outperforming other classes by 5-10 times. Season 6 - Selena - Not even among the top 3 characters. Additionally, only 5-6 viable builds, everything else is trash in comparison. (Unless you spend 200k FE in it) You cannot have one build cap out the dummy, with 5k FE invested, while another build with 60k invested struggles. This was evident 3 days into the Season and yet, you've made no changes. This is borderline moronic behavior.

The 1 week leading up to the beginning of Season 6 - You were scouting Discord, content creators and theory crafters and if anyone came up with any idea to destroy the game in a few days, it was immediately nerfed! If this isn't clear proof of how toxic and evil you are, I don't know what is. No wonder some of the top players lock their profiles - Not only because they don't want to affect the market prices, but they don't want YOU to see what they are doing, so you won't nerf their builds!

Quality of life - This means nothing to you. You are like a 6 year old Sheldon, completely oblivious of other people's preferences, likes and dislikes and that's why your game will die completely, when PoE 2 comes out.

Glacial Abyss - Great maps. Random Glacial Abyss Traveler cone-shaped AoE nukes you almost instantly (and sometimes you don't even see his AoE cone, because the map layout is prioritized over it and if it's on a lower ground, the cone goes below the terrain). Why? So you play other maps too. (Toxic solution to a simple problem) A more evident solution - Allow the players to lock-out maps they don't want to play. I guarantee you nobody wants to play your stupid circular maps and people will play only the single route ones.

Blacksail - Great mechanic. Yes, Greatly intrusive. WHY IN THE EVERLIVING PIKACHU F**K WOULD YOU MAKE PLAYERS STARE AT SELECTION SCREENS TWICE PER ANCHOR, 4 TIMES PER MAP IF USING PURPLE COMPASS) First you farm "extra options", then you are presented with a huge screen with 10 slots of options for the time-zone event, out of which you can fill up 4 at most. You beat the event and what do you know, another selection screen. Got any more selection screens? CREATE PRESETS FFS!

F2P/P2W - Won't spend too much on this, but GACHA, in this game? Really? Since you're copying from PoE, go check what their profits come from! Stash tabs and skins. Nothing that affects how strong someone is or how fast they can progress in the Season. Just.. completely moronic decision-making with your Pactscripts' system here. They should be free for everyone and nobody should be able to purchase them, to get an advantage. Just a daily roulette and you get one, after you complete your daily quests. Simple. What happens now is that X person has maxed Kong, Y person has no pactscripts. X Person reaches endgame in 3 days. Y person reaches endgame in 3 weeks. X person has flooded the market with expensive sh*t, that Y person can't afford. Big brain moment.... You're bottlenecking your playerbase... idiocy at its finest.

Dream/Nightmare - This is the #1 most annoying mechanic in any game, ever.
-First, lightnings - Don't always appear in every map. When they do, they are not always on through the entire map. Short timers, forcing the player to rush, which is stressful and leads to mistakes. Random clouds appear, sometimes there's a Treasure chest in them. At high speeds, you have to stop, focus and drag your character carefully to the Treasure chest, click and wait 2-3 seconds for all the loot to drop, resulting in you losing 3-5 seconds in total from the Lightning. (Easily fixable if 1) Chest is opened immediately, without interaction needed or 2) The clouds increase Lightning time +5 seconds...
-Second, Nightmare, invulnerability time of the hearts is maddening. Each stage has between 2-3 seconds in which they are completely invulnerable. You are just sitting there.. Waiting..
-Third, Too. Many. Screens. Again. After you're done looting, just Reset it automatically, for the love of God...
-Fourth - Your programming for the omens is horrendous. I'm selecting "Commodity" option at the start, which means EVERY OMEN SELECTION I SHOULD HAVE A COMMODITY OPTION. If you will leave this the way it is, at least add a "Do nothing" option that skips the omen selection and doesn't add Nightmare chance to start. Many people play Dream/Nightmare just for the speed anyway..
-Fifth - Let's say I'm building up Comodity bubbles. I have 4 commodity bubbles, 1 gear bubble, 1 blacksail bubble.
-Fifth.1 - I get an omen saying "Changes 1 bubble's type to commodity. Guess what, geniuses, I need one of the gear bubble or the blacksail bubble to get changed to commodity, not the already-commodity bubbles!? DUH!?
-Fifth.2 - I get an omen saying "Remove 1 bubble, add 1 Commodity bubble" - Guess what, geniuses, I need one of the gear bubble or the blacksail bubble to be removed, not a commodity bubble to be removed, so a commodity bubble can be added. Are you actually rеtаrdеd with this programming?

Blacksail, Dream/Nightmare, etc. - Would it be so difficult for you to create presets? I only want to farm Hero Memories from Blacksail. I only want to farm Commodity/Fluorescent from Nightmare. I DO NOT want to stare at selection screens for multiple seconds at a time. I WANT TO KILL MONSTERS. Easily fixable issue - Create constellation points that will automatically make the choice for you, as you did with Hunting's tree. I prefer it to be completely random even, than to sit and stare at your selections screens.

Flame Sand in SS6 - Are you stupid? No seriously, are you stupid? A month has passed since Season 6 released and after all the people begging for a vendor, for bound crafting mats exchange for Flame Sand, you STILL DO NOTHING????? Not only is it completely useless, 3 days into the season, but you even KEEP IT INSIDE CUBE OF RAPACITY. People have invested constellation points, bought Cube compasses, refreshed maps, they run rapacity AND YOU HAVE THE SHEER MF AUDACITY TO PROC THE YELLOW CUBE AND HIT FLAME SAND!??!?! You are either completely incompetent or insanely malicious and toxic.

Season 6's Seasonal Mechanic - This has got to be your biggest screw-up yet.
-First - Let's start with the Adjacent 4s - It was obvious your programming sucked 1 week into the season, yet you STILL haven't changed it. At least 5 times a day, we get impossible options and we are forced to use the "Force painting" option, to FIX your stupid programming. Easily fixable by 1) Adding more blocks to the canvases or 2) Adding logic to your programming, to count consequent blocks and store them inside a variable X and if the length of X is -1 of the an option, you remove it from the possible options a player can get. Who is even programming this? Harambe???? He would have done a better job!
-Second - If your canvas is stupid as hell and I need Void options, then I need VOID option to appear and not some random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nobody ever needed in the history of the World. You need to better program what option the player gets, according to the current state of their canvas. I refuse to believe that me sometimes getting a painting with 11 rainbows and sometimes struggling to even get 1 rainbow is normal. There is no SKILL involved in this. There is no "GIT GUD". There is simply BAD PROGRAMMING. Either give us completely random paintings or man the f up and fix your programming!
Third - For the love of everything that is good, CREATE A LOOT ROOM. Nobody wants to sit around and wait for that stupid bird to land, click an egg and wait for the loot to drop. WE ARE HERE FOR SPEED. WE ARE HERE FOR RAINBOWS! WE ARE HERE FOR LOOT EXPLOSIONS! Easily fixable by creating a Loot room that contains all eggs from the stages the player has beaten. You go in, you swap to your Drop Pacts comfortably and you just open open open. (I guess none of you played labyrinth in PoE? Argus is ashamed of you!)
Fourth - If I spend more than 2 minutes building a painting to get 3-4 rainbows and that rainbow drops 3 FE for me, I am calling Trump and ordering him to Nuke your central office! RAINBOW SHOULD MEAN BIG MONEY! NOT 3 FE!

Tradehouse - It is mind-boggling how you still haven't figured out to make it easier for people to trade. Here's a tip - I would pay the price of your Season's Battle Pass to have Infinite tradehouse slots! Also, for the love of god, add recent history for purchases. It doesn't help us when an item drops, we price check it and there's nothing there. If an item like that was recently sold, then add the 10 most recent transactions and their prices, at which they were sold. Also, in a game so highly focused on itemization, not including a Bid/Buyout options to the auction house is just... smooth brain move.

ESC Doesn't close all windows inside the game - By this point, it is completely obvious you have someone included in the decision making processes of developing this game, who has absolutely no f**king clue what they are doing and it is a miracle they know how to breathe.

Auto-channeling - Your second worst screw-up this season. The auto-channeling for the most used skill this season 6 is bugged in all kinds of ways. Numerous actions stop the auto-targeting and auto-channeling (clicking on teleports, running to the map boss) and numerous encounters affect the beam's angle (getting out of range of monsters not-yet killed, switching to another target and then back to the first, the golems who jump in the sky and other monsters with similar mechanics), tilting it at a random angle and only de-activating auto-target and activating it again, fixes it.

UI - You can't hide the chat completely? You can't hide all that info on the bottom right of the screen completely (when even more than half of it is in the Character panel)? Are you for real, with this? I refuse to believe you can be this determined to make your game look unappealing. Remove this clutter!

Auto-loot - Almost, but not really. The main currency in the game isn't on auto-pick up? For real??? Also, here's a tip - If I'm using a loot filter, everything that I see - I want to be picked up. There is ABSOLUTELY 0 REASON for you to make the players use 2 buttons, when they do everything in their power, to make a build, that uses 1 button. Easily fixable, if you introduce Secondary key bindings, where we can bind Pick up on the same button we use for our Main Skill. Do you have competence enough for this, at least?

Overall, almost a good game, but there is definitely a dev or multiple devs, whose sole purpose is to make the players' lives difficult, out of sheer toxicity and malice or utter incompetence. No wonder you guys receive death threats. A 6 year old would show you how to make your game more enjoyable. And it's a pity, because it has the potential to be the best ARPG.

Maybe next season focus on making your players comfortable, rather than annoying the ever-living hell out of us.
Also, F**k your player retention! If you're going to copy from PoE, copy how they retain their playerbase too! It's not by being toxic little c**ts, I'll tell you that.

You are lucky some of us have ADHD to some degree and have to finish something that we start, otherwise there'd be 8 people online. Congratulations, you make your players stay out of sheer hatred! I can't wait to finish my build, beat your stupid game, delete it permanently and never consume any product of yours ever again! Complete and utter degeneracy!

P.S. When I say "devs", I don't mean the actual developers of the game only (the programmers), but everyone involved into the decision making, because like with everything else that gradually becomes famous, your game was initially a gem and now it has turned into a cash-grab oriented diarrhea, because of those greedy shareholders who care only about the numbers, but guess what, brainiacs, if you create a nice product for people to enjoy, THEY WILL BUY IT!

I agree with pretty much everything your wrote! I really hope the lead designers see some of this feedback and take it to heart for future seasons.

I just started playing TLI a few days ago. I'm addicted until PoE2 comes out. There are so many ways this game can be improved to draw in even more players and make more money, but I'm sad that it feels more like a cash cow than a game.

Reading this, I genuinely don't think OP is mad for being silly. It sounds like a dedicated player who finally broke down and is just straight venting their frustrations.

It's difficult because as an outsider observer, their last trailer on the Frozen Canvas seems like the developers genuinely want to improve the game. I hope the Torchlight Infinite devs see past the swearing/anger and try to gauge what the valid criticisms are.

Though seeing it from OP's perspective- I don't think they care. OP seems adamant that these devs cannot learn from bad behavior after multiple game design sins.

Echtra (Runic Games renamed) sold out to a parent company and it was the parent company who sold the rights off after Echtra screwed up royally with TL3 and left it to rot.
