Are you an employee for the game? if so, please tell them to make the game "offline playable" so whenever this game gets shut down in the future, at least we can play it all the time solo.
Nothing last forever, so its a future proof thing, thanks.
I think you should play this game because in Season 2, the campaign took me like 5-6 hours. You should be able to decide if you want to keep going after that. Not a big commitment. And besides, I think a lot of comments about the game that I've read in the review section don't jive with my impressions at all so if you base your decision on that, you may as well base the decision off an eight ball.
The only offline games in this genre that I have played were Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, the older Torchlight games, and stuff like this.
If you desperately need a free to play one though then I guess go for it
When I said, "reactionary, unjustified, rash/hasty generalizations", this is what I'm talking about. Don't take anyone's word for it. Just play the game. If you're having fun, keep playing. If not, drop it and move on to something else.
P2W, mobile interface, dripping your characters locked behind paywall. Naaah, just go play Path of Exile.
The pets are not even that much of a factor in the game either, as evidenced many times on YouTube already. This claim is only ever made by people who don't actually play the game, and the counter-evidence to this claim is made by people who actually play the game. I wonder why that is.
The players have to monetize the game to pay for their work, just as Path of Exile did. It's not like Path of Exile doesn't ask its players to spend $60 on stash tabs, and it's not like Path of Exile does not have its loot box elements either, which further makes your point dishonest if I have to be frank.
At the end of the day, Torchlight Infinite can be played and enjoyed for free. The pets have minimal impact. The cosmetics are entirely optional. The characters are offered at fixed and fair rates and are optional. But even if you want a character, the primocryst packs are priced in exact amounts, and they are not locked behind a gacha. That is vastly more pro-consumer than the loot boxes in Path of Exile or most mobile games. Frankly, you're just not even remotely qualified to assess this. You just make claims hoping people believe you. What the ♥♥♥♥ do you have against the game or the developers anyway?
Lack of ingenuity and turning a blind eye to not having one bit of a character where once used to be just that.
Reactive and hateful and generalized? No, deserved judgement.
Now go and say your vain reactive nonsensical argument and play your new form-over-value mmorpg.
The endgame is 100% revolved around getting specific drops to boost your build. The problem is that they unbelievably screwed up the loot pools. They made it so that the critical items most people need for their builds are only possible to obtain in the absolute hardest encounters and those encounters are so difficult that most people can't beat them without cheesing them with a broken build. There is practically 0 progression in that mid-endgame area and the devs have acknowledged this time and time again. They know that there is a huge gap in progression and have said they will try to work on it but so far it is still pretty bad. In the current state of the game, you are practically required to use whatever broken/OP builds that are found if you want to do the hardest content.
