An early version of 2-Player-Coop is supposed to launch next season. On Saturday, there's a dev stream about the upcoming season. I'm sure we'll know if the feature is coming or not afterwards.

Honestly, we did make a demo of Multiplayer mode, but we have more technical problems to solve, so we decided to delay it until we make it enough to launch. After all, we can't provide a half-made work to players, that's our responsibility to make full and playable version. We will keep working on it, hopefully it will launch in the near future.

Really appreciate the straight, upfront answer. It isn't surprising that it's still going to be a work in progress. Online multiplayer for a game like this, is very challenging to implement. Especially when there are only going to be marginal benefits to doing it.
