Runtime Error at start up

I'm getting "Program Runtime error - Game is shutting down". Windows 11 (10.0.22621 Build 22621), Vega 64 card with latest drivers, AMD Ryzen 5 2600.

I had the same error, because my Steam wasn't running with admin rights.
The game itself asks for admin rights if you start it as non-admin, but that's apparently not enough.
Probably Steam running on another user than the game itself is causing problems.

Had the same issue, game can't run on a non-admin account even when admin rights are given. Switched to admin account and game works.

Same problem here, running on a non-admin account, Windows 11 latest updates. Even when gives all privs, game crashes.

I was just experiencing a related issue when starting the game from Steam. It asked for admin rights, which I then elevated it to grant, but then I got stuck on the auto-update where it kept giving me a "network connection failed" error. However, if I start the game directly with the executable (torchlight_infinite.exe) in the steam game files, it was able to autoupdate.

Just FYI: The same issue happens when trying to play Undecember. Launching Steam with admin right does not help, at least not while you are logged in from a non-admin account.

Don't know what the "proper" fix is as the game company hasn't responded to complaints in the discussion, but you can fix it by running the game while logged in as admin or by running Steam as admin and then launching the game from steam.

Launching the game as admin from a non admin account won't work. Overwriting all file/folder permissions on the game install to full access to your non-admin account won't fix it. Not sure how so few people are having issues with the game other than people gaming on their admin account.

i can play, if i use my admin account, but thats not an option for me.
