What loot to pick up?!
What loot are people picking up at end game? What do you look for? Do you pick up everything of a set quality? Don't want to be missing good items that I'm walking past and not picking up but also don't want to spend 10 mins sifting through my inventory after every run....

I'm not sure where you are in maps but you're going to have a hard time selling anything other than accessories until you start seeing item level 80+ stuff. This is because weapons and armor have energy and i85 stuff has much higher energy than i70 and below.

In terms of deciding what what accessories to sell everyone likes resistances and max life. So some accessory with 2-3 high res rolls (35%+ per stat) and life might sell.

Gear with a T1 (orange) mod could also sell, IF the item is i80+ and only has 1-3 mods. The more mods something has the more expensive it is to craft, so I would say something with fewer mods is more likely to sell because it has more space for people to craft what they want on it.

You can also avoid trying to sell gear entirely until you hit T6-T7 and just sell your extra embers. The crafting system in this game is pretty mat hungry because of the low chance to roll T1 mods so people are always buying that stuff. Some legendary compasses also sell for 1FE or more, so those are a good thing to sell early game since it takes a while to unlock compass slots anyway.

Thanks so much for the info it's really helpful! However I am interested in what you actually pick up from the ground white, blue, purple, pink items... And what does the boarder around an item mean?

Thanks

This really depends on what char and build you plying. some legendary items are trash tier and some are good, this varies and you need to look at the trade house to see. Generally purple and pink are what people mostly go for, unless you play around crafting then white and blue. I would just say, expand your bag and pick up every item hoping for the best in the stats.

I'm not 100% sure what a border around the name of an item means. I have heard it means the item is corroded but I haven't verified that myself.

I believe a border around the name of a white item means it's a high level crafting base, but I'm not 100% sure about that either.

In terms of what I choose to grab, I just grab whatever my loot filter doesn't hide. Most of it isn't worth selling, but it still exchanges at the NPC for a small amount of flame dust. Which I can use for crafting or buying other materials.

But as I explained in my first reply, weapons and armor below i80 will be very unlikely to sell because no one wants low energy items. So until you reach timemark 6+ the only equipment you should keep are those which you have equipped. Maybe keeping a few rings with good resists so you can recap your resists as needed when you upgrade to higher energy armor.

From T6 onwards, I will repeat what I said in my last post:
Gear with a T1 (orange) mod could also sell, IF the item is i80+ and only has 1-3 mods. The more mods something has the more expensive it is to craft, so I would say something with fewer mods is generally more likely to sell.

There isn't a quick and easy way to know what will sell on the trade house. Every class wants different stats so you literally have to check every item. When you check how much an item sells for you can filter the results based on mods by clicking the little upside down triangle button. You can then see what other people are selling similar items are selling for.

You can also check how good an item's rolls are at a glance by looking at the color of the box next to each affix. An orange or purple box means that affix is higher tier and offers more stats, so if an item has a bunch of blue affixes it's probably not going to sell.

You also have to consider what the item's base stat is too because no one wants a minion damage base with a bunch of affixes that work with attacks even if most of them are orange and purple.

The boarders mean the level of the gear, those with yellow boarders are gears that with 85+ levels and demands characters levels 60+ . Here's a gamer-made post, you can use google translation as it's useful and clear, better than i can explain here.
