more social features in the game would be nice
(Also godammit why do I understand all but one of those tags... :P)
Would've indeed been easy to just let the player make their own display string for their team, though I guess they probably didn't want to bother with the phone keyboard UI for their crappy mobile version.
Well, if PM wasn't as lazy with their cashgrab, they could've indeed used the tags to help search for matching IDs/E.G.O or the ability to filter teams by tags to better quick-select them for the relevant thing you're about to do (MDs, XP, Threads, etc).
Also doubt they'll do much in the way of research, as this is merely a cash grab by their own words. And there's no player interaction beyond sharing a single team (which a pity we can only share one, but otherwise I guess even a new player essentially gets 100% content acces instantly if befriending a player who shares all their teams).
At least it's not "H-handholding" *blushes profusely*
Fragile though... What?
On a related note, the taglines players can select for their profile cards also come with this benefit of being much smaller in terms of data, along with the additional benefits of being "auto-translated" across all languages, and also preventing potentially offensive content.
