You see, Ish does stuff. A lot of stuff in this chapter. All other sinners in their respective chapters are just kinda there, but Ish? She is proactive, moreso than ever, and that, what a surprise, works really well in chapter about Ish.
And villain actively plays with that concept too. Ahab is just as crazy as Ish is, but is also damn smart, so she can wrap Ish around her finger one more time just to kill that stupid whale she keeps talking about. None other Limbus villain has those dynamics with their respective sinner, Kromer is just creepy Sinclair's EX, and Dongrang is boring moron, not considering the fact Yi Sang doesn't a give a ♥♥♥♥ about anything until 4.5
And you also get this neat little moment like Middle chasing you across the sea to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pummel you to death, new Color introduction, going into fancy pirate night club, that Ensamble wannabe guy, Chapter just has solid foundationg and a lot of smaller stuff, it's just amazing.
Also ending where Ahab completely loses it is the most satisfying story moment Limbus has to offer for now. The way she yells for her team, completely forgetting they all are dead is so rewarding after her actively using them to beat you up.
So yeah, that's why it's good. I hope PM keeps up the good work, since it was first, like, really good chapter. 1-2 were nothing burger, 3 is being remembered only because of PM fans having thing for psycho women, and 4 is so boring I can't
Right, but, remember that Sinclair and Yi sang weren't exactly characters that would have gone out to do stuff on their own. I mean, Sinclair always got dragged along by other people and even bullied, while Yi sang's been depressed ever since he lost the people he cared about in his chapter, so they were both basically in character. Ishmael on the other hand was set to 11 and left it on that setting for the majority of the story.. and.. while I don't know holds for Outis, the whole 'getting ignored and being treated like crap to the point of taking things too far and in charge of everything' sounds like something Outis would actually do, to me at least.
I guess that part makes sense, although that goes back to the two sinners not being known for standing up for themselves. While I do agree on the Ishmael and Ahab having better dynamic, Ahab just doesn't scream 'Villain' to me. I mean, yeah, she treats her crew like crap and even sacrifices them, but Kromer just felt more like a proper villain, where she actually felt threatening to the point where people where getting hurt and impaled, while Ahab is more like 'I'm going to kill that whale and make the crew pay for it', which is still pretty bad but to me it doesn't leave that much of an impact when her gimmick is being obsessed with hunting whales.
Yeah I did enjoy some of those parts, though, like I said, Ishmael taking things a bit far didn't entice me as much.
Eh, I dunno, Even if chapter 4 was long and tedious, I still felt more for Yi sang than I did for Ishmael.. though, I guess at that point I was just getting tired of Ahab stuff, with how long it took me to defeat the crew, followed by a ridiculously easy Ahab boss fight and that soundtrack that came with it. I felt more relieved to finish that chapter at that point than satisfied, though I guess I understand more about why people really enjoyed Canto 5, though I'll be sticking with 3, though it's weird that you're mentioning that 3 is remembered for 'psycho women' when you've got Ishmael going psycho and Ahab who's always been a psycho.
Kromer is obviously evil, but she is open about it. "We hate cyborgs, and we will kill you if you're one", and that's it. Her cult knows this, agrees with that, and they go on their way to murder cyborg people while being funded by N Corp or something.
But Ahab is actively manipulates people, without any actual reason to kill the whale. Nowhere she mentions how that would make her famous/rich, she just wants it dead. Simple as that. She may gain something from it, but she itself doesn't care. And to achieve this goal she uses others, actually interested in their lives people, who just want to earn some money and try to survive in this City. Starbuck wants to open cafe, and Quee could have thing with Ish, or at least be friends. But Ahab doesn't have any plans like these, she just wants whale dead. Wants so much, she is enraged of Ish killing whale, not her, since for her this whole process of reaching a goal is far more important than life and goal itself, so she snaps seeing Ish define this way of thinking AND also crushing her own life goal.
In that way Ahab is not so a person, but representation of obession as a whole, and that's why she's more evil than Kromer.
Both are psycho maniacs, but Kromer simply hates cyborgs, and Ahab makes her whole life hating the whale.
While the main big two described evil and good in different ways, you can't deny Ahab completely, for in some way she's just a constant chaser for her dream, albeit not considering costs, which is considered virtue for humanity most of the time.
It's also a recurring topic since chapter 3 - something that is generally considered good in man, yet done to an extreme. Not that much mystical like Sinclair and the blue boy, more straightforward.
Side characters like Pip also is written much more remarkable than Meursalt before canto 3.5, and they only took a part.
But me personally, i think 3 4 5 all have their heights, from that i am sure we'll see an wuthering one for the upcoming next. i hope we get Ishmael in cow bikini (mini striped) one soon.
She states that she sees Her and Sinclair, all dressed up and thinks "thats me, I should be that". So she goes for a plan that she thinks will get her that Mirror world, but it doesn't work out the way she wanted. She then dresses the same as the Mirror World and tries again to get her Mirror world.
Its keen to note that we have Nothing There Abnormality on N Corp. Mimicking the Abno, but being a shell of what is it, just like Kromer is. The fact she had zero context of how to reach her goal of the mirror, kinda shows fruitless her plan really was.
