Bitter Sweet Road Map Reveal
I'm pretty hyped about all the new things coming from the new road map.

But i think they should have stuck with how they used to do road maps, where they would reveal what weeks we would get new units or ego's, and what time frame the next Walpurgisnacht night would come.

Wild Hunt Heathcliff for instance, his hype generated by the silhouette teaser was pretty tame. Everybody already knew he was coming next from the roadmap, so this felt pointless and unimpactfull. His new trailer recently, while being very badass, also felt like the hype generated from it was very lack luster. I felt amazement towards his kit, but i didn't really feel surprised about what they showed from what they talked about and what they wanted to do with him.

I'm hoping this is a one time thing, because it removes the element of surprise. Imagine how much more people would be talking and hyping about Wild hunt Heathcliff, had they not done so. Especially since the reveals came with no real buildup. They just said "here's what we have planned for the next updates". It just feels so bitter sweet.

Yeah, there's just something underwhelming about "Oh that ID that was expected to be next week is coming next week. Seeing him reviving allies and summoning his mount would've been really exciting, if the live-stream hadn't already mentioned that.

I fail to see the issue. Roadmap gives us possibility to get estimate on what stuff we'll get, which allows F2P to use their resources more freely. Thanks to Road Map I now know that after Erlking and WN Ryoshu there is just some general banners, so I can chill for the rest of the season once WN ends. If not for that, we'd have no idea about how to manage our resources but hold onto them until the very last moment, because Erlking/WN could strike at any moment.
So I instead hope they do those streams regularly, it's just good to know beforehand what to expect and be prepared.

Yeah, the reveal of WildCliff would've been way more impactful if I hadn't known about it beforehand

It's funny to have the director just casually reveal it, and the transparency for their plan does help out when optimizing what you want to spend on, but I feel like something as major as WildCliff should've been hidden for hype's sake

Maybe even if they wanted to show that WildCliff is coming, at least they shouldn't reveal his unique abilities to make that part more exciting

I mean, what's the point in hyping him, if he's just another 000 you will shard
It would make sense in some other gacha, where you're at RNG mercy, but it doesn't really matter in Limbus

Eh, at least I know when and what we're getting instead of having to wait who knows how many weeks or months until something's going to happen. If there was no mention that Walpurgis was going to to get delayed from 3 months to 4 then I would have been salty that I had to wait that long without notice, and even if Wild Hunt might have gotten teased a bit early, you can't take away the hype I had for that ID, even though I had constant doubts if we were getting an Erlking that was the same or one that had his timeline changed completely and possibly a very different version of Erlking as the new ID.

Also they might have spoiled some gimmicks and how the attacks look, but they still haven't spoiled stuff like damage, status effects, and other possible gimmicks, like the explosive gloom/envy/wrath as an example.

Here's the thing though, these ID's and EGO's don't leave just because their banner does, unless it's an event or walpurgisnacht ID. You have plenty of time to save up shards before the season ends. If you are blowing your resources on every new ID, simply because, then that's a you problem.

Even if you don't have the resources to pull or craft after blowing it all, you can easily do so later. This game is so generous, that those issues brought up, only really effect you in other gacha games. Pretending that resource management in this game is a problem is ludicrous, even in the position of a new player. New players have a ton of resources available at their disposal, and worst case scenario, they just borrow the ID's. Realistically, It's not that big of a deal as you try make it out to be.

Neither is knowing the road map ahead of time, i get that. But how practical it is, wasn't the point of the post. I'm okay with it, but i'd prefer if they didn't. For me personally, since my initial hype has settled down, i'm not all that interested to pull for some of these, and because i have a ton of resources where i could shard all the new characters coming next, that motivates me to not go do more dungeons to try and keep my resources high, which in terms demotivates me from playing the game, when i have nothing strife for. That small excitement of a new character and trying them out fades very quickly with what kind of game limbus company is.

Well, yeah, that's fair enough. I think it's a matter of wether you have BP or not. If you have, then yeah, you already can get everything, so it really does nothing but kills some of excitment, and if you don't have BP, it helps with planning.
