what is the reason for locking event behind clearing canto V
why is event locked by story clears? does project moon not cater to new players for events, cause this sucks not being able to farm event points other than progressing through story mode

As everyone has mentioned it takes place after Canto V and this gacha seems to be very story focus (with good reason).

But I personally think that sooner or later they are going to need to branch the events out of the main story and make it a type of side story content because the more events they put out that is locked behind the main story, the less new player friendly it will become. New players will begin to not care about the story and would rather skip to try and get to the event asap and that is counter intuitive to what kind of game PM is trying to make.

Not exactly the Events story stays in the game even when the event is over like the Bongy's Hell's Kitchen and the Molar Boatworks, you will just not receive the bonus event rewards.

Yeah, this is what new players will be doing if the events get deeper and deeper into the main story, I feel you. PM games stories are very good, with emotional tugs and life lessons, it is a shame that it would get skipped because people just want to get to the rewards.

Because it is a natural progression of the story. It takes place right after Ishmael's story has been completed, and the devs didn't want you "jumping" content.
Whether this was the correct decision or not is up to debate but at any rate that's probably the reason you are looking for.

because it happens after the story of canto V ofc

stories are locked by events too so you need to play chicken pizza story to get to chapter 4. no story would be missed by new players, only the painful grinds and some rewards that's all

Isn't this how gacha games create fomo? It adds sense of urgency so you have to rush things and stay on track in order to not miss these limited time events.

You may as well just ignore it and play at your own pace. You will miss some minor rewards but then again.. you already missed a lot of them in the past by not starting playing on release. Not like they really matter that much in the long run.

My proposal is let them play Events but don't let them see Events Stories. If they finish seeing needed Stories, give them notice that they can see Events Stories in Drive Intervallo / Theater Detour Tales because they take place after these.

I see, didnt know the chicken one was a previous event, from my perspective it was just a intermission between chapter 3-4. ultimately only PT knows the reason behind this but would hope they can brainstorm more about this event-story block for newer players

Image not lock behind ch5 then some noobs use there lv 1-20 ID to play event got rakt by lv40 enemies.

Then we going to get mass rant spam threaten dev to lower enemies level instead of this thread.

That is what the events are: Intermissions, filler, joke episodes
Whatever you like to call it, the Molar Boatworks makes jabs of it being a typical "Beach Episode" like in an anime and some people took it too literal that it sparked some controversy.

So is this event is both taking place right now, in real life time (Since you can't access the event after Walpurgis is over), or after Canto 5, in in-game time (Since you can't access the event before completing Canto 5)?
Its one or the other.

Regardless it'd be better for new players if they could access the event regardless of the Canto they're in. Fumble the rules a little, even if it doesn't make 100% sense storywise.

As far as i know the only content not accessable(Anymore) is Mirror dungeon 1, Mirror dungeon 2, MD2H
Railroad 1
and all of the "Prenerfed" fights.

if i read correctly you can do this event via the driverside. and story via the theater after the event is over.
Just no rewards.

Since the rewards are from a limited pool anyways it'd be neat if players that miss the event could just get the rewards by doing the Intervallo missions and mirror dungeons. Like, you set your account to have a specific event active and you can get its event currency from the MD like in the current event.
I understand that it'd make events a bit less "special" but I find the main allure of them the new story content and the free ID/Ego anyways.

This will especially become a problem in later Canto's if they introduce like... Level 50 and Uptie 5. Asking a new player to speedrun through lLimbus in 2-3 weeks will be both a disservice to the story and that players time (also might be incredibly difficult).

They are not designed around new players in mind though. Its the same concept as genshin or pretty much any other gacha events locked behind 200+ hours of content. They are there to keep current player-base logged in. If you don't feel like FOMO, you're less inclined to come back, so that's like, by design.

What they realistically could do eventually there is to rerun these events from time to time giving fresh players possibility to participate. But then again, they didn't really remove story-line from the game so its only event rewards that are missing.
